Abstract

A medical device and a system including same are provided. The medical device includes an elongated device body, at least a portion of which is steerable within a body of a subject via at least one control wire; and a plurality of control wire guides disposed along the elongated device body and being deployable to deflect the at least one control wire away from a longitudinal axis of the elongated device body.

Claims (8)

1. A medical system comprising:

(a) a first medical device having an elongated device body, a distal portion of said elongated device body being steerable via wires running through four wire guides projecting radially outward from said distal portion thereby forming a first cross sectional shape characterized by four outwardly projecting arms, said first medical device including a first tissue manipulator attached to a distal end thereof;

(b) a second medical device having an elongated device body, a distal portion of said elongated device body being steerable via wires running through two wire guides projecting radially outward from said distal portion thereby forming a second cross sectional shape characterized by two outwardly projecting arms, said second medical device including a second tissue manipulator attached to a distal end thereof;

(c) a delivery tube for delivering said first medical device and at least one of said second medical device wherein said first cross sectional shape and said second cross sectional shape are selected so as to maximize packing of said first medical device and said at least second medical device within said delivery tube.

2. The medical system of claim 1 , wherein a portion of said elongated device body of said first medical device and/or said second medical device is steerable within a body of a subject.

3. The medical system of claim 1 , wherein said over tube is used for delivering said first medical device and said second medical device into a body cavity.

4. The medical system of claim 1 , wherein said elongated device body of said first medical device and/or said second medical device includes a steerable portion.

5. The medical system of claim 1 , wherein said elongated device body of said first medical device and said second medical device is composed of a plurality of segments.
