Abstract

A fast charging method for an electronic device is disclosed. The method includes obtaining, when the electronic device has a successful communication handshake with a USB host device using the USB interface, a corresponding charging data set of the electronic device under the charging current threshold by means of measurement according to a preset charging current threshold. The charging current threshold includes at least a first charging current threshold and a second charging current threshold. The charging data set includes at least a corresponding first charging voltage value and a corresponding first charging current value of the electronic device under the first charging current threshold, and a corresponding second charging voltage value and a corresponding second charging current value of the electronic device under the second charging current threshold. The method further includes determining, according to the charging data set, a maximum charging current value.

Claims (39)

1. A fast charging method implemented by a first electronic device, the fast charging method comprising:

performing a communication handshake with a second electronic device;

measuring a second charging voltage value and a second charging current value under a preset charging current threshold when the communication handshake is successful;

calculating a first charging current value using the second charging voltage value and the second charging current value;

charging the first electronic device with a first charging current corresponding to the first charging current value; and

setting a brightness of a screen of the first electronic device to a fixed value when charging the first electronic device with the first charging current.

2. The fast charging method of claim 1 , wherein the first charging current value is greater than the preset charging current threshold.

3. The fast charging method of claim 1 , further comprising determining, prior to charging the first electronic device with the first charging current, that the first electronic device enables a fast charging mode.

4. The fast charging method of claim 1 , further comprising charging, prior to charging the first electronic device with the first charging current, the first electronic device with a preset charging current.

5. The fast charging method of claim 4 , further comprising:

detecting a temperature of the first electronic device; and

switching the first charging current to the preset charging current when the temperature is greater than a first temperature threshold.

6. The fast charging method of claim 4 , further comprising switching from charging the first electronic device using the first charging current to charging the first electronic device using the preset charging current when a duration of a fast charging mode is greater than a first time threshold.

7. An apparatus comprising:

a screen;

a memory configured to store instructions; and

a processor coupled to the memory and configured to execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to:

display a first graphical user interface (GUI) configured for selection of a charging mode, wherein the charging mode comprises a fast charging mode and a normal charging mode;

receive a first operation for selecting the fast charging mode; and

charge the apparatus with a first charging current value when the apparatus is in the fast charging mode, wherein the normal charging mode is associated with a second charging current value, wherein the first charging current value is greater than the second charging current value, and wherein a brightness of the screen is set to a fixed value when the apparatus is in the fast charging mode.

8. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to switch from charging the apparatus with the fast charging mode to charging the apparatus with the normal charging mode when a duration of the fast charging mode is greater than a first time threshold.

9. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the second charging current value is 500 milliamperes (mA).

10. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to perform a handshake communication process with a second apparatus.

11. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the instructions further cause the apparatus to charge the apparatus with the second charging current value when the brightness of the screen changes to a second value.

12. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to: detect a temperature of the apparatus.

13. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the processor is further configured to switch the first charging current value to a third charging current value when the temperature is greater than a first temperature threshold.

14. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the first charging current value is greater than the third charging current value.

15. A computer program product comprising instructions for storage on a non-transitory medium and that, when executed by a processor, cause an apparatus to:

display a first graphical user interface (GUI) configured for selection of a charging mode, wherein the charging mode comprises a fast charging mode and a normal charging mode;

receive a first operation for selecting the fast charging mode; and

charge the apparatus with a first charging current value when the apparatus is in the fast charging mode, wherein the normal charging mode is associated with a second charging current value, wherein the first charging current value is greater than the second charging current value, and wherein a brightness of a screen is set to a fixed value when the apparatus is in the fast charging mode.

16. The computer program product of claim 15 , wherein the fast charging mode is associated with a calculated charging current value, and wherein the instructions further cause the apparatus to:

determine a first charging voltage value and the first charging current value under a first charging current threshold;

determine a second charging voltage value and the second charging current value under a second charging current threshold; and

calculate the calculated charging current according to the first charging voltage value, the first charging current value, the second charging voltage value, and the second charging current value.

17. The computer program product of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the apparatus to charge the apparatus with the second charging current value when the brightness of the screen changes to a second value.

18. The computer program product of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the apparatus to detect a temperature of the apparatus.

19. The computer program product of claim 18 , wherein the instructions further cause the apparatus to switch the first charging current value to a third charging current value when the temperature is greater than a first temperature threshold.

20. The computer program product of claim 19 , wherein the first charging current value is greater than the third charging current value.
