Abstract

A mobile data analysis system is provided that enables mobile device location tracking, secure messaging, and real-time sharing of intelligence information, among other features. In one embodiment, a method and apparatus is provided for creating data objects from one or more digital images captured by a mobile device. A computing device receives a first digital image file comprising first image metadata, wherein the first image metadata includes one or more image properties each having an image property value. The computing device transforms one or more of the image property values of the one or more image properties into one or more particular values. The computing device populates one or more data object property values of a data object with the one or more particular values. The computing device stores the data object in a data repository.

Claims (44)

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

maintaining, in a data repository of a computing device, an object-centric data model comprising a plurality of data objects of a plurality of data object types;

receiving a first digital image and a second digital image, wherein the first digital image comprises one or more first image properties and the second digital image comprises one or more second image properties;

generating one or more particular values that are based upon at least one first image property of the one or more first image properties and at least one second image property of the one or more second image properties;

populating one or more data object property values of a first data object of the object-centric data model with the one or more particular values;

storing the first data object in the data repository.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein populating the one or more data object property values of the first data object of the object-centric data model with the one or more particular values, comprises:

determining whether the first data object preexists in the object-centric data model;

upon determining that the first data object preexists in the object-centric data model, updating the one or more data object property values of the first data object with the one or more particular values; and

upon determining that the first data object does not preexist in the object-centric data model, generating the first data object in the object-centric data model and populating the one or more data object property values of the generated first data object with the one or more particular values.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, over a network at the computing device, input associating the first data object to a second data object;

generating a data object link between the first data object and the second data object; and

storing the data object link in the computing device.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein storing the data object link in the computing device comprises, storing a separate link data entity in the computing device, wherein the separate link data entity identifies the first data object and the second data object.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein storing the data object link in the computing device comprises:

populating the one or more data object property values of the first data object with a link to the second data object; and

populating one or more data object property values of the second data object with a link to the first data object.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the first data object has a data object type that is one of an event, a person, an organization, a location, an entity, or an item.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein generating the one or more particular values, comprises generating the one or more particular values as summary information based on the one or more first image properties and the one or more second image properties.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 7 , wherein the summary information includes a particular location value, the particular location value derived from an average of a first location value associated with the one or more first image properties and a second location value associated with the one or more second image properties.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more first image properties represent first image metadata of the first image and the one or more second image properties represent second image metadata of the second image.

10. A non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, causes performance of:

maintaining, in a data repository of a computing device, an object-centric data model comprising a plurality of data objects of a plurality of data object types;

receiving a first digital image and a second digital image, wherein the first digital image comprises one or more first image properties and the second digital image comprises one or more second image properties;

generating one or more particular values, wherein each of the one or more particular values generated are based upon at least one first image property of the one or more first image properties and at least one second image property of the one or more second image properties;

populating one or more data object property values of a first data object of the object-centric data model with the one or more particular values;

storing the first data object in the data repository.

11. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 10 , wherein populating the one or more data object property values of the first data object of the object-centric data model with the one or more particular values, comprises:

determining whether the first data object preexists in the object-centric data model;

upon determining that the first data object preexists in the object-centric data model, updating the one or more data object property values of the first data object with the one or more particular values; and

upon determining that the first data object does not preexist in the object-centric data model, generating the first data object in the object-centric data model and populating the one or more data object property values of the generated first data object with the one or more particular values.

12. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 10 , wherein the instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause performance of:

receiving, over a network at the computing device, input associating the first data object to a second data object;

generating a data object link between the first data object and the second data object; and

storing the data object link in the computing device.

13. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 12 , wherein storing the data object link in the computing device comprises, storing a separate link data entity in the computing device, wherein the separate link data entity identifies the first data object and the second data object.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 12 , wherein storing the data object link in the computing device comprises:

populating the one or more data object property values of the first data object with a link to the second data object; and

populating one or more data object property values of the second data object with a link to the first data object.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 10 , wherein the first data object has a data object type that is one of an event, a person, an organization, a location, an entity, or an item.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 10 , wherein generating the one or more particular values, comprises generating the one or more particular values as summary information based on the one or more first image properties and the one or more second image properties.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 16 , wherein the summary information includes a particular location value, the particular location value derived from an average of a first location value associated with the one or more first image properties and a second location value associated with the one or more second image properties.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 10 , wherein the one or more first image properties represent first image metadata of the first image and the one or more second image properties represent second image metadata of the second image.
