Abstract

In one embodiment, a method includes, determining multiple data packets for transmission. The method includes generating a log that includes a sequence identifier associated with each data packet. The method includes transmitting the data packets via a first radar antenna coupled with a vehicle and associated with the computing system. The method includes receiving an acknowledgement from a second radar antenna that identifies at least one sequence identifier associated with at least one of the data packets. The method includes identifying one or more data packets that were not received by the second radar antenna by comparing the at least one sequence identifier in the acknowledgment and the sequence identifier associated with each data packet in the log. The method includes retransmitting the one or more identified data packets that were not received by the second radar antenna via the first radar antenna.

Claims (43)

1. A method comprising, by a computing system:

determining a plurality of data packets for transmission;

generating a log that includes a sequence identifier associated with each data packet of the plurality of data packets;

transmitting the plurality of data packets via a first radar antenna coupled with a vehicle and associated with the computing system;

receiving an acknowledgement from a second radar antenna in an environment external to the vehicle identifying at least one sequence identifier associated with at least one of the plurality of data packets;

identifying one or more data packets of the plurality of data packets transmitted via the first radar antenna that were not received by the second radar antenna by comparing the at least one sequence identifier in the acknowledgement and the sequence identifier associated with each data packet in the log; and

retransmitting the one or more identified data packets that were not received by the second radar antenna via the first radar antenna.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the plurality of data packets for transmission comprises ordering the plurality of data packets for transmission according to a prioritization policy.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the prioritization policy prioritizes data associated with an operation status of the vehicle over data collected by a sensor associated with the vehicle.

4. The method of claim 3 wherein the prioritization policy further prioritizes data associated with an operation status of the sensor associated with the vehicle over the data collected by the sensor associated with the vehicle.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the prioritization policy further prioritizes data collected by the sensor associated with the vehicle over data provided by a passenger of the vehicle.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein transmitting the plurality of data packets via the first radar antenna comprises:

transmitting a header packet with the plurality of data packets via the first radar antenna that includes a total number of the plurality of data packets.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of data packets include:

data from one or more sensors of the vehicle;

diagnostic information regarding the vehicle; or

communication data associated with one or more passengers of the vehicle.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

transmitting, with each data packet of the plurality of data packets, the sequence identifier associated with the data packet.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein each data packet of the plurality of data packets includes the sequence identifier associated with the data packet.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein each data packet of the plurality of data packets further includes a total number of the plurality of data packets for transmission.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one sequence identifier in the acknowledgement corresponds to a data packet of the plurality of data packets that was not received by the second radar antenna.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one sequence identifier in the acknowledgement corresponds to a data packet of the plurality of data packets that was received by the second radar antenna.

13. A system comprising: one or more processors; and one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media in communication with the one or more processors, the one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media comprising instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, are configured to cause the system to perform operations comprising:

determining a plurality of data packets for transmission;

generating a log that includes a sequence identifier associated with each data packet of the plurality of data packets;

transmitting the plurality of data packets via a first radar antenna coupled with a vehicle and associated with the system;

receiving an acknowledgement from a second radar antenna in an environment external to the vehicle identifying at least one sequence identifier associated with at least one of the plurality of data packets;

identifying one or more data packets of the plurality of data packets transmitted via the first radar antenna that were not received by the second radar antenna by comparing the at least one sequence identifier in the acknowledgement and the sequence identifier associated with each data packet in the log; and

retransmitting the one or more identified data packets that were not received by the second radar antenna via the first radar antenna.

14. The system of claim 13 , wherein determining the plurality of data packets for transmission comprises ordering the plurality of data packets for transmission according to a prioritization policy.

15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the prioritization policy prioritizes data associated with an operation status of the vehicle over data collected by a sensor associated with the vehicle.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the prioritization policy further prioritizes data associated with an operation status of the sensor associated with the vehicle over the data collected by the sensor associated with the vehicle.

17. One or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media including instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, are configured to cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

determining a plurality of data packets for transmission;

generating a log that includes a sequence identifier associated with each data packet of the plurality of data packets;

transmitting the plurality of data packets via a first radar antenna coupled with a vehicle and associated with a computing system;

receiving an acknowledgement from a second radar antenna in an environment external to the vehicle identifying at least one sequence identifier associated with at least one of the plurality of data packets;

identifying one or more data packets of the plurality of data packets transmitted via the first radar antenna that were not received by the second radar antenna by comparing the at least one sequence identifier in the acknowledgement and the sequence identifier associated with each data packet in the log; and

retransmitting the one or more identified data packets that were not received by the second radar antenna via the first radar antenna.

18. The one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media of claim 17 , wherein determining the plurality of data packets for transmission comprises ordering the plurality of data packets for transmission according to a prioritization policy.

19. The one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media of claim 18 , wherein the prioritization policy prioritizes data associated with an operation status of the vehicle over data collected by a sensor associated with the vehicle.

20. The one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media of claim 19 , wherein the prioritization policy further prioritizes data associated with an operation status of the sensor associated with the vehicle over the data collected by the sensor associated with the vehicle.
