Abstract

User experience parameters are applied in formatting results to a query for presentation. The user experience parameters correspond to at least one particular subject related to the query.

Claims (51)

1. A computer-implemented method for providing a response to a content query, the method comprising:

receiving at a user device the query;

determining a reference to a video-based media content item, based on parsing the query using control circuitry;

retrieving, using the control circuitry, one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item from an electronic database storing video-based media content item listings and corresponding user experience parameters, wherein the one or more retrieved user experience parameters are depicted in one or more frames of the video-based media content item;

generating, using the control circuitry, a textual result based on the content query, wherein a portion of the textual result comprises at least one title; and

generating for presentation the textual result formatted based on the retrieved one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

retrieving the one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item comprises retrieving font information corresponding to the video-based media content item; and

generating for presentation the textual result formatted based on the retrieved one or more user experience parameters comprises:

accessing a font identified by the font information; and

generating for presentation the textual result based on the accessed font.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein retrieving font information corresponding to the video-based media content item comprises retrieving font information from content metadata related to the video-based media content item.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising generating content metadata for respective content items indicative of the one or more retrieved user experience parameters.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein retrieving one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item comprises retrieving text display animation information corresponding to the video-based media content item.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the one or more user experience parameters comprise audio information, and

the method further comprising generating for presentation on the user device audio based on the audio information simultaneously with the textual result.

7. A system for providing a response to a content query, the system comprising:

an electronic database storing video-based media content item listings and corresponding user experience parameters; and

a processor configured to:

receive the query;

determine a reference to a video-based media content item, based on parsing the query;

retrieve one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item from the electronic database, wherein the one or more retrieved user experience parameters are depicted in one or more frames of the video-based media content item;

generate for presentation a textual result based on the content query, wherein a portion of the textual result comprises at least one title, wherein the textual result is formatted based on the retrieved one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured to: retrieve the one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item by retrieving font information corresponding to the subject-access a font identified by the font information; and cause the textual result to be generated for presentation based on the accessed font.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to retrieve the font information from content metadata related to the video-based media content item.

10. The system of claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured to generate content metadata for respective content items indicative of the retrieved one or more user experience parameters.

11. The system of claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured to retrieve text display animation information corresponding to the video-based media content item.

12. The system of claim 7 , wherein:

the retrieved one or more user experience parameters comprise audio information,

and the control circuitry is further configured to generate audio based on the audio information, and provide the audio simultaneously with the textual result.

13. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-readable instructions encoded thereon for providing a response to a content query that, when executed by control circuitry, causes the control circuitry to:

cause the query to be received at a user device;

determine a reference to a video-based media content item, based on parsing the query;

retrieve one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item from an electronic database storing video-based media content item listings and corresponding user experience parameters, wherein the one or more retrieved user experience parameters are depicted in one or more frames of the video-based media content item;

generate a textual result based on the content query, wherein a portion of the textual result comprises at least one title; and

generate for presentation the textual result formatted based on the retrieved one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein:

execution of the instructions to retrieve the one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item causes the control circuitry to retrieve font information corresponding to the video-based media content item; and

execution of the instructions to generate for presentation the textual result formatted based on the retrieved user experience parameters causes the control circuitry to:

access a font identified by the font information; and

generate for presentation the textual result based on the accessed font.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein execution of the instructions to retrieve the font information corresponding to the subject causes the control circuitry to retrieve font information from content metadata related to the video-based media content item.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein execution of the instructions further causes the control circuitry to generate content metadata for respective content items indicative of the one or more retrieved user experience parameters.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein execution of the instructions to retrieve the one or more user experience parameters corresponding to the video-based media content item further causes the control circuitry to retrieve text display animation information corresponding to the video-based media content item.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein:

the user experience parameters comprise audio information, and

execution of the instructions further causes the control circuitry to generate for presentation on the user device audio based on the audio information simultaneously with the textual result.

19. The method of claim 1 , wherein: parsing the query to determine a reference to a video-based media content item comprises determining that the query comprises a title of the video-based media content item; and the at least one title of the textual result corresponds to the title of the video-based media content item.

20. The system of claim 7 , wherein: the processor is configured to parse the query to determine a reference to a video-based media content item by determining that the query comprises a title of the video-based media content item; and the at least one title of the textual result corresponds to the title of the video-based media content item.

21. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein: execution of the instruction to parse the query to determine a reference to a video-based media content item further causes the control circuitry to determine that the query comprises a title of the video-based media content item; and the at least one title of the textual result corresponds to the title of the video-based media content item.
