Abstract

A method for representing data in a vehicle. The method includes representing data from a map view ( 2 ) and data from a dynamic environment model ( 1 ) in linked form, whereby this representation occurs on a user interface, such as human-machine interface (HMI). The data from the dynamic environment model ( 1 ) is provided. The data from the map view ( 2 ) is combined with the data from the dynamic environment model ( 1 ). The data from the map view ( 2 ) and the data from the dynamic environment model ( 1 ) are represented in a collective view ( 12 ).

Claims (32)

1 . A method for representing data in a vehicle, the method comprising:

providing map view data from a map view of a navigation system;

displaying the map view data a driver of the vehicle;

providing dynamic environment model data from a dynamic environment model;

combining the map view data with the dynamic environment model data; and

representing the map view data and the dynamic environment model data in a collective view.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamic environment model data is generated using at least one of radar, lidar, ultrasound, or a global positions system sensor of the vehicle.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the ma view data is generated using an electronic horizon provider that provides relevant map data along a most probable path of the vehicle, wherein the most probable path can be a computed route path of the vehicle.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the map view data is generated by a map rendering unit of a navigation system that provides relevant map data proximate the vehicle.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamic environment model data includes information concerning a carriageway or concerning traffic lanes, obstacles, speed limits, other road users such as vehicles and/or pedestrians.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamic environment model data is generated using at least one of radar, lidar, ultrasound, or a GPS sensor associated with a second vehicle and is transmitted to the vehicle using a communication interface between vehicles.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamic environment model data is transferred to the vehicle using a communication interface in the area proximate the vehicle, wherein the dynamic environment model data includes information concerning a current traffic flow, road conditions and traffic disruptions.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the collective view is represented in different, selectable degrees of detail in a view that selectively adjustable with a different zoom factor.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the representation of the collective view is provided to the driver using a human machine interface provided in the vehicle.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the human machine interface includes one of a display or a head-up display.

11 . A system for representing data in a vehicle, the system comprising:

a processor; and

a memory that includes instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

provide map view data from a map view of a navigation system;

display the map view data a driver of the vehicle;

provide dynamic environment model data from a dynamic environment model;

combine the map view data with the dynamic environment model data; and

represent the map view data and the dynamic environment model data in a collective view.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the dynamic environment model data is generated using at least one of radar, lidar, ultrasound, or a global positions system sensor of the vehicle.

13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the ma view data is generated using an electronic horizon provider that provides relevant map data along a most probable path of the vehicle, wherein the most probable path can be a computed route path of the vehicle.

14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the map view data is generated by a map rendering unit of a navigation system that provides relevant map data proximate the vehicle.

15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the dynamic environment model data includes information concerning a carriageway or concerning traffic lanes, obstacles, speed limits, other road users such as vehicles and/or pedestrians.

16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the dynamic environment model data is generated using at least one of radar, lidar, ultrasound, or a GPS sensor associated with a second vehicle and is transmitted to the vehicle using a communication interface between vehicles.

17 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the dynamic environment model data is transferred to the vehicle using a communication interface in the area proximate the vehicle, wherein the dynamic environment model data includes information concerning a current traffic flow, road conditions and traffic disruptions.

18 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the collective view is represented in different, selectable degrees of detail in a view that selectively adjustable with a different zoom factor.

19 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the representation of the collective view is provided to the driver using a human machine interface provided in the vehicle.

20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the human machine interface includes one of a display or a head-up display.
