Abstract

Securely matching encrypted entities by receiving data, segmenting the data into a plurality of categories, selecting encryption key(s) according to a data category of the plurality of data categories, encrypting the data of the data category using the encryption key(s), and comparing the encrypted data to previously encrypted data of the data category.

Claims (35)

1. A computer implemented method for securely matching encrypted entities, the method comprising:

receiving data;

segmenting the data, into a plurality of data categories;

defining the plurality of data categories according to data string length, wherein the plurality of data categories includes overlapping data categories;

assigning multiple encryption keys to first data strings in overlapping categories of the overlapping data categories;

encrypting the first data strings using each of the multiple encryption keys assigned to the first data strings; and

matching the encrypted first data strings with previously encrypted data strings according to the multiple encryption keys.

2. The computer implemented method according to claim 1 , further comprising acting upon a result of matching the encrypted first data strings.

3. The computer implemented method according to claim 1 , further comprising standardizing the data.

4. The computer implemented method according to claim 1 , further comprising selecting an encryption key according to a data token length.

5. The computer implemented method according to claim 1 , further comprising storing the encrypted data according to data string length.

6. A computer program product for securely matching encrypted entities, the computer program product comprising one or more computer readable storage devices and stored program instructions on the one or more computer readable storage devices, the stored program instructions comprising:

program instructions for receiving data;

program instructions for segmenting the data, into a plurality of data categories;

program instructions for defining the plurality of data categories according to data string length, wherein the plurality of data categories includes overlapping data categories;

program instructions for assigning multiple encryption keys to first data strings in overlapping categories of the overlapping data categories;

program instructions for encrypting the first data strings using each of the multiple encryption keys assigned to the first data strings; and

program instructions for matching the encrypted first data strings to previously encrypted data strings according to the multiple encryption keys.

7. The computer program product according to claim 6 , the stored program instructions further comprising program instructions for acting upon a result of matching encrypted first data strings.

8. The computer program product according to claim 6 , the stored program instructions further comprising program instructions for standardizing the data.

9. The computer program product according to claim 6 , the stored program instructions further comprising program instructions for selecting an encryption key according to a data string length.

10. The computer program product according to claim 6 , the stored program instructions further comprising program instructions for storing encrypted data according to data string length.

11. A computer system for securely matching encrypted entities, the computer system comprising:

one or more computer processors;

one or more computer readable storage devices;

stored program instructions on the one or more computer readable storage devices for execution by the one or more computer processors, the stored program instructions comprising:

program instructions for receiving data;

program instructions for segmenting the data, into a plurality of data categories;

program instructions for defining the plurality of data categories according to data string length, wherein the plurality of data categories includes overlapping data categories;

program instructions for assigning multiple encryption keys to first data strings in overlapping categories of the overlapping data categories;

program instructions for encrypting the first data strings using each of the multiple encryption keys assigned to the first data strings; and

program instructions for matching the encrypted first data strings to previously encrypted data strings according to the multiple encryption keys.

12. The computer system according to claim 11 , the stored program instructions further comprising program instructions for acting upon a result of matching encrypted first data strings.

13. The computer system according to claim 11 , the stored program instructions further comprising program instructions for selecting an encryption key according to a data string length.

14. The computer system according to claim 11 , the stored program instructions further comprising program instructions for storing encrypted data according to data string length.
