Method and apparatus for color print management
In a color printing environment, functions for printing color management are dissociated. An abstraction layer is also provided to facilitate setting and evaluation of all factors relating to color print and prediction.
1. A method of establishing a relationship between virtual color space and real color space, comprising:
building a calibration range in three-dimensional (3D) imaginary space, wherein the 3D imaginary space represents desired qualities of a real space solution;
converting said 3D calibration range to a file in dimensions greater than three, by predefined rules;
printing the file in dimensions of output channels greater than three and subsequently obtaining colors in 3D real-time measurement; and
establishing a correspondence between colorimetric values of the file in 3D real-time measurement and the 3D imaginary space;
mapping of the real color space to the 3D imaginary space and the 3D imaginary space to dimensions greater than three, in accordance with said converting and determining desired 3D values.
