Abstract

The present disclosure facilitates interfacing between a sales management system and a project planning system. In some embodiments, the system includes an interface and schedule engine, both executing on a server. The interface can parse a sales order from the sales management system into products and project tasks within the products. The products can also include at least one of a labor product, a parts product, and an agreements product. The schedule engine can generate schedule tasks corresponding to the project tasks, determine a performance order of the schedule tasks, and combine the schedule tasks into schedule phases based on the performance order. The schedule engine can determine a performance order of the schedule phases and combine the schedule phases into a schedule component based on the performance order. The interface can transmit the schedule component to the project planning system for execution.

Claims (83)

1. A system for interfacing between an information technology management system and an information technology planning system, comprising:

one or more servers including one or more processors and memory configured to:

receive, from the information technology management system comprising at least one processor, a first data record including a sales order;

parse the first data record to identify one or more products of the sales order comprising a first product and a second product, wherein:

the one or more products each include one or more project tasks and at least one of the one or more project tasks includes at least one of a labor product, a parts product or an agreements product,

the first product includes a first project task of the one or more project tasks and a second project task of the one or more project tasks, and

the second product includes a third project task of the one or more project tasks, and the at least one of the labor product, the parts product, and the agreements product;

generate a plurality of schedule tasks corresponding to the one or more project tasks;

combine the plurality of schedule tasks based on an order of performance to create one or more schedule phases;

combine the one or more schedule phases based on a second order of performance to create a schedule component stored in a second data record; and

transmit the second data record storing the schedule component to the information technology planning system for execution.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to:

generate a first schedule task of the plurality of schedule tasks that corresponds to the first project task, and a second schedule task of the plurality of schedule tasks that corresponds to the second project task.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to:

determine the order of performance between the first schedule task and the second schedule task; and

combine the first schedule task and the second schedule task based on the order of performance to create a first schedule phase of the one or more schedule phases.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to:

generate a search index for the schedule component stored in the second data record; and

store the search index in a third data record.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to:

receive from the information technology planning system, an indication of a change to the schedule component; and

transmit, responsive to the indication and to the information technology management system, information about the change to the schedule component to initiate an update to the sales order.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to:

receive, from the information technology planning system, an indication of a change to the schedule component;

compare the indication with the sales order received from the information technology management system;

determine to update the sales order based on the change; and

transmit, to the information technology management system, information about the change to the schedule component to initiate an update to the sales order.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to:

generate one or more quote components based on the one or more project tasks, the plurality of schedule tasks, or the at least one of the labor product, the parts product, and the agreements product; and

combine the one or more quote components to create a quote.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to:

provide a quote for the sales order;

receive an indication of a modification to the quote;

update the schedule component responsive to the indication of the modification to the quote; and

transmit, responsive to the update, information about the update to the schedule component to initiate an update to the sales order.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to:

determine the order of performance between the plurality of schedule tasks based on at least one of:

a manually assigned sequence included in the first data record;

a sequence included in a template associated with the first data record;

a dependency between the plurality of schedule tasks, the dependency included in the first data record;

a resource assignment associated with each of the plurality of schedule tasks, wherein the order of performance is selected to avoid simultaneous use of a same resource; or

a default sequence.

10. A method of interfacing between an information technology management system and an information technology planning system, comprising:

receiving, by a server including one or more processors and memory, from the information technology management system comprising at least one processor, a first data record including a sales order;

parsing, by the server, the first data record to identify one or more products of the sales order comprising a first product and a second product, wherein:

the one or more products each include one or more project tasks and at least one of the one or more project tasks includes at least one of a labor product, a parts product or an agreements product,

the first product includes a first project task of the one or more project tasks and a second project task of the one or more project tasks, and

the second product includes a third project task of the one or more project tasks, and the at least one of the labor product, the parts product, and the agreements product;

generating, by the server, a plurality of schedule tasks corresponding to the one or more project tasks;

combining, by the server, the plurality of schedule tasks based on an order of performance to create one or more schedule phases;

combining, by the server, the one or more schedule phases based on a second order of performance to create a schedule component stored in a second data record; and

transmitting, by the server, the second data record storing the schedule component to the information technology planning system for execution.

11. The method of claim 10 , comprising:

generating a first schedule task of the plurality of schedule tasks that corresponds to the first project task, and a second schedule task of the plurality of schedule tasks that corresponds to the second project task.

12. The method of claim 11 , comprising:

determining the order of performance between the first schedule task and the second schedule task; and

combining the first schedule task and the second schedule task based on the order of performance to create a first schedule phase of the one or more schedule phases.

13. The method of claim 10 , comprising:

generating a search index for the schedule component stored in the second data record; and

storing the search index in a third data record.

14. The method of claim 10 , comprising:

receiving from the information technology planning system, an indication of a change to the schedule component; and

transmitting, responsive to the indication and to the information technology management system, information about the change to the schedule component to initiate an update to the sales order.

15. The method of claim 10 , comprising:

receiving, from the information technology planning system, an indication of a change to the schedule component;

comparing the indication with the sales order received from the information technology management system;

determining to update the sales order based on the change; and

transmitting, to the information technology management system, information about the change to the schedule component to initiate an update to the sales order.

16. The method of claim 10 , comprising:

generating one or more quote components based on the one or more project tasks, the plurality of schedule tasks, or the at least one of the labor product, the parts product, and the agreements product; and

combining the one or more quote components to create a quote.

17. The method of claim 10 , comprising:

providing a quote for the sales order;

receiving an indication of a modification to the quote;

update the schedule component responsive to the indication of the modification to the quote; and

transmitting, responsive to the update, information about the update to the schedule component to initiate an update to the sales order.

18. The method of claim 10 , comprising:

determining the order of performance between the plurality of schedule tasks based on at least one of:

a manually assigned sequence included in the first data record;

a sequence included in a template associated with the first data record;

a dependency between the plurality of schedule tasks, the dependency included in the first data record;

a resource assignment associated with each of the plurality of schedule tasks, wherein the order of performance is selected to avoid simultaneous use of a same resource; or

a default sequence.
