Abstract

A handshower cradle assembly includes a waterway body, a handshower cradle, and an actuator. The handshower cradle is coupled to the waterway body. The actuator is configured to reduce a flow rate of water through the waterway body in response to a handshower being received within the handshower cradle. In some embodiments, the handshower cradle is configured to engage with the actuator under the weight of the handshower to adjust a position of the actuator with respect to the waterway body.

Claims (24)

1. A handshower cradle assembly, comprising:

a waterway body;

a handshower cradle coupled to the waterway body; and

an actuator configured to reduce a flow rate of water through the waterway body in response to a handshower being received within the handshower cradle, wherein the actuator comprises an adjustment mechanism configured to allow a user to vary an amount of flow that passes through the handshower when the handshower is in the handshower cradle, wherein the actuator further comprises a plunger, wherein the adjustment mechanism comprises a screw threadably coupled to a distal end of the plunger, and wherein the distal end of the plunger extends outwardly from the waterway body.

2. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 1 , wherein the handshower cradle is configured to engage with the actuator under the weight of the handshower to adjust a position of the actuator with respect to the waterway body.

3. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a return spring configured to bias the actuator toward the handshower cradle.

4. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 1 , wherein the handshower cradle comprises a base fixedly coupled to the waterway body, and wherein an inner end of the handshower cradle is pivotably coupled to an upper end of the base.

5. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 1 , wherein the actuator is at least partially disposed within the waterway body, and wherein the handshower cradle applies an inward force to the actuator to move the actuator farther into the waterway body when the handshower is received within the handshower cradle.

6. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 1 , wherein the handshower cradle is configured to change a position of the actuator when the handshower cradle is repositioned.

7. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 1 , wherein the handshower cradle assembly is configured to be at least partially disposed behind a wall, and wherein the actuator is configured to extend through the wall.

8. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 1 , wherein the plunger is disposed at least partially within the waterway body between a water inlet and a water outlet, and wherein the plunger at least partially restricts the flow of water between the water inlet and the water outlet when the handshower is in the handshower cradle.

9. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 8 , wherein the water inlet is fluidly coupled to the water outlet by a waterway restriction zone having a sidewall, and wherein a proximal end of the actuator is configured to engage with the sidewall when the handshower is in the handshower cradle.

10. A handshower cradle assembly, comprising:

a waterway body having a water inlet and a water outlet that is fluidly coupled to the water inlet by a waterway restriction zone, the waterway restriction zone extending at least partially through the waterway body;

an actuator disposed at least partially within the waterway body and configured to extend at least partially into the waterway restriction zone; and

a handshower cradle coupled to the waterway body and configured to receive a handshower, the handshower cradle configured to engage with the actuator under the weight of the handshower to adjust a position of the actuator with respect to the waterway body, wherein the actuator comprises an adjustment mechanism configured to engage the handshower cradle, wherein the adjustment mechanism is configured to allow a user to vary an amount of flow that passes through the handshower when the handshower is in the handshower cradle, wherein the actuator further comprises a plunger, wherein the adjustment mechanism comprises a screw threadably coupled to an outer end of the plunger.

11. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 10 , wherein an inner end of the plunger is configured to extend at least partially into the waterway restriction zone, and wherein an outer end of the plunger opposite the inner end extends outwardly from the waterway body.

12. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 10 , wherein the handshower cradle comprises a base fixedly coupled to the waterway body, and wherein an inner end of the handshower cradle is pivotably coupled to an upper end of the base.

13. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 10 , wherein an overall length of the actuator is based on a position of the adjustment mechanism.

14. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 10 , wherein the waterway restriction zone comprises a sidewall, and wherein a proximal end of the actuator is configured to engage with the sidewall under the weight of the handshower.

15. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 10 , wherein repositioning the handshower cradle changes a position of the actuator.

16. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 10 , wherein the waterway body is configured to be at least partially disposed behind a wall, and wherein the actuator is configured to extend through the wall.

17. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 10 , further comprising a return spring, wherein the return spring biases the actuator away from the waterway restriction zone.

18. The handshower cradle assembly of claim 17 , wherein the waterway body further comprises a cavity that is fluidly coupled to the waterway restriction zone, wherein the actuator extends through the cavity, and wherein the return spring engages both the cavity and the actuator.
