SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING ANALYTE SENSOR DATA FOR SENSOR CALIBRATION
Systems and methods for processing sensor analyte data are disclosed, including initiating calibration, updating calibration, evaluating clinical acceptability of reference and sensor analyte data, and evaluating the quality of sensor calibration. The sensor can be calibrated using a calibration set of one or more matched sensor and reference analyte data pairs. Reference data resulting from benchtop testing an analyte sensor prior to its insertion can be used to provide initial calibration of the sensor data. Reference data from a short term continuous analyte sensor implanted in a user can be used to initially calibrate or update sensor data from a long term continuous analyte sensor.

21 . A method of making an on-body mounted glucose sensing system, the method comprising:
coating one or more electrodes configured for transcutaneous implantation in a host with a membrane system; and
packaging the one or more coated electrodes in one or more packaged sets of one or more transcutaneous sensors.
22 . A kit for glucose monitoring comprising:
a mounting unit configured for on-body securement to a host;
at least one radiation sterilized packaged set of one or more glucose sensors, the one or more glucose sensors comprising a conductive material coated with a membrane system, the glucose sensor being configured for transcutaneous implantation in the host; and
an applicator configured to implant the radiation sterilized glucose sensor into the host.
23 . A glucose monitoring system comprising:
a mounting unit configured for on-body securement to a host;
sensor electronics configured to be coupled to the mounting unit;
a glucose sensor comprising a conductive material coated with a membrane system, the glucose sensor being configured for transcutaneous implantation in the host; and
wherein the glucose sensor is detachably connectable to the sensor electronics with a sealing member comprising conductive contacts for electrically coupling the glucose sensor to the sensor electronics; and
wherein the glucose sensor is sterilized with radiation sterilization separate from the sensor electronics.
