Abstract

This disclosure relates to systems and methods for collecting, integrating, processing, distributing, and analyzing spatial and/or spatio-temporal information associated with a variety of data sources and/or locations. In some embodiments, systems and methods described herein allow for collection and integration of information included in one or more spatial and/or spatio-temporal data streams and/or other related information that may be utilized in connection with one or more analytical processes. In certain embodiments, the disclosed embodiments may allow a user to, among other things, interact with spatio-temporal information associated with a variety of diverse data sources, generate visualizations using such data, and/or perform desired analytical queries based on the data.

Claims (23)

1. A method of processing spatio-temporal data performed by a system comprising a processor and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause the system to perform the method, the method comprising:

receiving first data stream information associated with at least one distributed data source, the first data stream information comprising first data having a spatial component and a temporal component;

transforming the first data stream information into at least one first data entry in a data array, the data array including a plurality of spatial dimensions and at least one temporal dimension;

receiving, by a service engine executing on the system, a user request from a user system relating to the at least one distributed data source;

determining at least one of an amount of data the user system is capable of receiving and an amount of data the user system is capable of displaying;

generating, using the service engine, a first response to the user request based on the determination, the first response being based on the at least one first data entry; and

transmitting the first response to the user system.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the data array includes at least three spatial dimensions.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

extracting first metadata included in the first data stream information and associating the first metadata with the at least one first data entry in the data array.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the first metadata comprises aggregated information associated with the first data stream information.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first data stream information comprises first measured data information.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first data stream information comprises first modeled data information.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first response comprises a visualization.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the visualization is generated based on the at least one first data entry.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first response comprises a computation result from a predictive model based on the at least one first data entry.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first response comprises at least one first metric generated based on the at least one first data entry.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining at least one of the amount of data the user system is capable of receiving and the amount of data the user system is capable of displaying comprises determining the amount of data the user system is capable of displaying based, at least in part, on a visual interface associated with the user system.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining at least one of the amount of data the user system is capable of receiving and the amount of data the user system is capable of displaying comprises determining the amount of data the user system is capable of receiving based, at least in part, on a determined bandwidth of a communication channel between the system and the user system.

13. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining at least one of the amount of data the user system is capable of receiving and the amount of data the user system is capable of displaying comprises determining the amount of data the user system is capable of receiving based, at least in part, on a determined latency of a communication channel between the system and the user system.

14. The method of claim 1 , wherein generating the first response to the user request comprises transforming the at least one first data entry.

15. The method of claim 1 , wherein generating the first response to the user request comprises performing at least one computation using the at least one first data entry.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein performing the at least one computation comprises performing the at least one computation using the at least one first data entry and at least one second data entry in the data array.
