Abstract

A display device whose aspect ratio can be changed is provided. The display device includes a plurality of display units and a plurality of driver circuit units. The plurality of display units each include a light-emitting portion and a connection region. The plurality of driver circuit units each include a driver circuit portion and a connection region. The connection regions of the adjacent units overlap with each other and one shaft passes through the connection regions. The adjacent units are electrically connected to each other with the one shaft. With such a structure, an angle between the adjacent units electrically connected to each other with one shaft can be changed, which enables the aspect ratio of the display device to be changed.

Claims (47)

1. A display device comprising:

a display region comprising a plurality of first units; and

a driver region comprising a plurality of second units,

wherein the plurality of first units each comprise a light-emitting portion and a connection region,

wherein the plurality of second units each comprise a driver circuit portion and a connection region,

wherein the driver circuit portion is configured to drive the display region,

wherein the connection region of a first one of the plurality of first units is electrically connected to the connection region of a second one of the plurality of first units,

wherein an angle between the first one of the plurality of first units and the second one of the plurality of first units is configured to be changed,

wherein an aspect ratio of the display device is changeable, and

wherein a first one of the plurality of second units is parallel to the first one of the plurality of first units.

2. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the connection region of the first one of the plurality of second units is electrically connected to the connection region of a third one of the plurality of first units.

3. The display device according to claim 2 , wherein an angle between the first one of the plurality of second units and the third one of the plurality of first units is configured to be changed.

4. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the light-emitting portions each comprise a light-emitting element.

5. An electronic device comprising the display device according to claim 1 .

6. A display device comprising:

a display region comprising a plurality of first units; and

a driver region comprising a plurality of second units,

wherein the plurality of first units each comprise a connection region,

wherein the plurality of second units each comprise a connection region,

wherein the connection region of a first one of the plurality of first units is electrically connected to the connection region of a first one of the plurality of second units,

wherein the plurality of first units of the display region are parallel to each other,

wherein the plurality of second units of the driver region are parallel to each other,

wherein an angle between the first one of the plurality of first units and the first one of the plurality of second units is changeable, and

wherein an aspect ratio of the display device is changeable.

7. The display device according to claim 6 ,

wherein the plurality of first units each comprise a light-emitting portion,

wherein at least one of the plurality of first units comprises a driver circuit portion,

wherein the plurality of second units each comprise a driver circuit portion, and wherein at least one of the plurality of second units comprises a light-emitting portion.

8. The display device according to claim 7 , wherein the light-emitting portions each comprise a light-emitting element.

9. An electronic device comprising the display device according to claim 6 .

10. A display device comprising:

a display region comprising a first layer including a plurality of first units and a second layer including a plurality of second units and a first insulator, the second layer being provided over the first layer, and

a driver region comprising a plurality of third units and a plurality of fourth units,

wherein the first insulator comprises a light-transmitting and elastic material,

wherein the plurality of first units and the plurality of second units each comprise a light-emitting portion,

wherein the light-emitting portion of each of the plurality of first units is overlapped with a gap between adjacent two of the plurality of second units,

wherein each of the plurality of first units has a first region which is overlapped with at least one of the plurality of second units,

wherein an area of the first region is configured to be changed,

wherein the plurality of third units is configured to drive the light-emitting portions of the plurality of first units,

wherein the plurality of fourth units is configured to drive the light-emitting portions of the plurality of second units,

wherein the plurality of fourth units is provided over the plurality of third units, and

wherein an aspect ratio of the display device is changeable.

11. The display device according to claim 10 ,

wherein the first layer of the display region further comprises a second insulator.

12. The display device according to claim 10 ,

wherein the light-emitting portions each comprise a light-emitting element.

13. An electronic device comprising the display device according to claim 10 .
