Abstract

Techniques discussed herein can facilitate RS (Reference Signal) sequence generation and mapping, and/or precoder assignment, for NR (New Radio). One example embodiment employable at a NR wireless communication device comprises processing circuitry configured to: generate one or more PN (Pseudo Noise) sequences based at least in part on an initial state of a PN generator; extract, for each PRB (Physical Resource Block) of one or more PRBs, an associated portion of an associated PN sequence of the one or more PN sequences, based at least in part on a reference subcarrier index, independent of a bandwidth part configuration and of a maximum supported number of PRBs; and generate, for each PRB of the one or more PRBs, an associated set of RS(s) for that PRB based at least in part on the extracted associated portion of the associated PN sequence for that PRB.

Claims (30)

1. A baseband processor of a User Equipment (UE), configured to:

determine one or more Precoding Resource block Groups (PRGs), wherein each PRG comprises one or more consecutive Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs), starting from a reference resource block;

determine, for each PRG of the one or more PRGs, an associated precoder assignment for that PRG, wherein the associated precoder assignment for that PRG is associated with each PRB of the one or more consecutive PRBs of that PRG; and

process a downlink data channel mapped to the one or more PRGs, based at least in part on the associated precoder assignment for each PRG of the one or more PRGs,

wherein the one or more PRGs comprise a boundary PRG and one or more other PRGs, wherein the one or more other PRGs each comprise N PRBs, wherein N is a positive integer, wherein the boundary PRG is located at an upper boundary of a bandwidth part, wherein the bandwidth part comprises M PRBs, wherein M is a positive integer greater than N, wherein the boundary PRG comprises N PRBs when M is an integer multiple of N, and wherein the boundary PRG comprises fewer than N PRBs when M is not an integer multiple of N.

2. The baseband processor of claim 1 , wherein the reference resource block is a center resource block of a synchronization signal (SS) block.

3. The baseband processor of claim 1 , wherein the baseband processor is further configured to determine the reference resource block based at least in part on a configured offset.

4. The baseband processor of claim 1 , wherein the reference resource block is determined based on a resource allocation of the UE.

5. The baseband processor of claim 4 , wherein the reference resource block is a center resource block of the resource allocation of the UE.

6. The baseband processor of claim 4 , wherein the reference resource block is a lowest resource block of the resource allocation of the UE.

7. The baseband processor of claim 4 , wherein the reference resource block is a highest resource block of the resource allocation of the UE.

8. The baseband processor of claim 4 , wherein the resource allocation comprises all PRBs scheduled for the UE in a slot.

9. The baseband processor of claim 4 , wherein the resource allocation comprises a configured BW (Bandwidth) part for the UE.

10. The baseband processor of claim 1 , wherein the reference resource block is a cell-specific reference resource block.

11. The baseband processor of claim 1 , wherein the reference resource block is a UE-specific reference resource block.

12. A method for a user equipment (UE), comprising:

determining one or more Precoding Resource block Groups (PRGs), wherein each PRG comprises one or more consecutive Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs), starting from a reference resource block;

determining, for each PRG of the one or more PRGs, an associated precoder assignment for that PRG, wherein the associated precoder assignment for that PRG is associated with each PRB of the one or more consecutive PRBs of that PRG; and

processing a downlink data channel mapped to the one or more PRGs, based at least in part on the associated precoder assignment for each PRG of the one or more PRGs,

wherein the one or more PRGs comprise a boundary PRG and one or more other PRGs, wherein the one or more other PRGs each comprise N PRBs, wherein N is a positive integer, wherein the boundary PRG is located at an upper boundary of a bandwidth part, wherein the bandwidth part comprises M PRBs, wherein M is a positive integer greater than N, wherein the boundary PRG comprises N PRBs when M is an integer multiple of N, and wherein the boundary PRG comprises fewer than N PRBs when M is not an integer multiple of N.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the reference resource block is a center resource block of a synchronization signal (SS)-block.

14. The method of claim 12 , further comprising determining the reference resource block based at least in part on a configured offset.

15. The method of claim 12 , wherein the reference resource block is determined based on a resource allocation of the UE.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the reference resource block is a center resource block of the resource allocation of the UE.

17. The method of claim 15 , wherein the reference resource block is a lowest resource block of the resource allocation of the UE.

18. The method of claim 15 , wherein the reference resource block is a highest resource block of the resource allocation of the UE.

19. The method claim 15 , wherein the resource allocation comprises all PRBs scheduled for the UE in a slot.

20. The method of claim 15 , wherein the resource allocation comprises a configured bandwidth part for the UE.

21. The method of claim 12 , wherein the reference resource block is a cell-specific reference resource block.

22. The method of claim 12 , wherein the reference resource block is a UE-specific reference resource block.
