administering to the patient an effective amount of anti-human CD40 antibody comprising a light chain and a heavy chain, the heavy chain comprising a human IgG1 Fc domain comprising a S267E amino acid substitution, wherein the numbering is according to the EU index as in Kabat, thereby inducing dendritic cell proliferation in the patient.

22 . A method of activating B cells in a patient in need thereof comprising:

administering to the patient an effective amount of anti-human CD40 antibody comprising a light chain and a heavy chain, the heavy chain comprising a human IgG1 Fc domain comprising a S267E amino acid substitution, wherein the numbering is according to the EU index as in Kabat, thereby activating B cells in the patient.
