Abstract

The present disclosure relates generally to a system that utilizes a mobile device to facilitate the transfer of funds between a gaming establishment retail account and a cashless wagering account, and further between the cashless wagering account and an electronic gaming machine.

Claims (33)

1. A system comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

receive, via an interface, data associated with an amount of non-cashable credits associated with a retail account,

transmit, to a server, data associated with a request of the amount of non-cashable credits associated with the retail account, and

responsive to receipt, from the server, of data associated with an approval of the requested amount of non-cashable credits, modify a balance based on the requested amount of non-cashable credits.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the balance comprises a balance of a cashless wagering account.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the balance comprises a wagering balance configured to be drawn upon to fund a wager on a play a game using a non-cashable credit of the amount of non-cashable credits.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the retail account comprises a gaming establishment retail account.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the interface comprises a mobile device application of a mobile device.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the interface comprises an interface of an electronic gaming machine.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the interface comprises an interface of a player tracking unit of a gaming establishment management system.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein prior to being associated with the retail account, the amount of non-cashable credits comprised an amount of cashable credits.

9. A system comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

receive data associated with an amount of non-cashable credits,

determine if a retail account includes the requested amount of non-cashable credits, and

responsive to a determination that the retail account includes the requested amount of non-cashable credits, transmit data associated with the requested amount of non-cashable credits being approved, wherein responsive to the requested amount of non-cashable credits being approved, a balance is modified based on the requested amount of non-cashable credits.

10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the balance comprises one of: a balance of a cashless wagering account, and a wagering balance configured to be drawn upon to fund a wager on a play a game using a non-cashable credit of the amount of non-cashable credits.

11. The system of claim 9 , wherein the retail account comprises a gaming establishment retail account.

12. The system of claim 9 , wherein prior to being associated with the retail account, the amount of non-cashable credits comprised an amount of cashable credits.

13. A method of operating a system, the method comprising:

receiving, via an interface, data associated with an amount of non-cashable credits associated with a retail account,

transmitting, to a server, data associated with a request of the amount of non-cashable credits associated with the retail account, and

responsive to receipt, from the server, of data associated with an approval of the requested amount of non-cashable credits, modifying, by a processor, a balance based on the requested amount of non-cashable credits.

14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the balance comprises a balance of a cashless wagering account.

15. The method of claim 13 , wherein the balance comprises a wagering balance configured to be drawn upon to fund a wager on a play a game using a non-cashable credit of the amount of non-cashable credits.

16. The method of claim 13 , wherein the retail account comprises a gaming establishment retail account.

17. The method of claim 13 , wherein the interface comprises a mobile device application of a mobile device.

18. The method of claim 13 , wherein the interface comprises an interface of an electronic gaming machine.

19. The method of claim 13 , wherein the interface comprises an interface of a player tracking unit of a gaming establishment management system.

20. The method of claim 13 , wherein prior to being associated with the retail account, the amount of non-cashable credits comprised an amount of cashable credits.
