Abstract

A telescoping tower for a boat may include a center section of a tower. The apparatus may further include at least a first support and a second support each comprising a telescoping assembly, wherein the telescoping assembly may include two or more members longitudinally moveable relative to one another for moving the center section of the tower between at least a first position and a second position.

Claims (24)

1. A telescoping tower for a boat comprising:

a center section of a tower;

at least a first support and a second support each comprising a telescoping assembly including two or more members longitudinally moveable relative to one another for moving the center section of the tower between at least a first position and a second position, wherein at least a first member of the two or more members of the respective first support and second support is at least partially hollow such that the first member of the two or more members of the respective first support and second support defines a channel;

an actuator for longitudinally moving the two or more members of at least one of the first support and the second support relative to one another to move the center section of the tower between at least the first position and the second position.

2. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 1 wherein the first support and the second support are respectively positioned at opposing ends of the center section of the tower.

3. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 1 further comprising a first base and a second base connected with a respective one of the first support and the second support for mounting the first support and the second support to the boat.

The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 1 wherein the first support and the second support are each configured to extend and retract, via the two or more members, to raise and lower the center section of the tower between at least a first height above a deck of the boat and a second height above the deck of the boat.

5. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 1 , wherein at least two members of the two or more members of the respective first support and second support are arranged alongside one another.

6. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 1 , wherein at least a second member of the two or more members of the respective first support and second support is at least partially disposed within the channel of at least the first member.

7. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 1 wherein the first support and the second support are positioned at an angle toward an inside of the boat.

8. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 1 wherein the tower is positioned in an extended configuration in the first position.

9. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 1 wherein the tower is positioned in a retracted configuration in the second position.

10. A telescoping tower for a boat comprising:

a center section of a tower;

at least a first support and a second support each comprising a telescoping assembly including two or more members longitudinally moveable relative to one another for moving the center section of the tower between at least a first position and a second position, wherein the first support and the second support are each configured to extend and retract, via the two or more members, to raise and lower the center section of the tower between at least a first height above a deck of the boat and a second height above the deck of the boat, wherein at least a first member of the two or more members of the respective first support second support is at least partially hollow such that at least the first member defines a channel, and wherein at least a second member of the two or more members of the respective first support and second support is at least partially disposed within the channel of at least the first member;

an actuator for longitudinally moving the two or more members of at least one of the first support and the second support relative to one another to move the center section of the tower between at least the first position and the second position.

11. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 10 wherein the first support and the second support are respectively positioned at opposing ends of the center section of the tower.

12. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 10 further comprising a first base and a second base, each connected with a respective one of the first support and the second support for mounting the first support and the second support to the boat.

13. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 10 wherein at least two members of the two or more members of the respective first support and second support are arranged alongside one another.

14. The telescoping tower for a boat according to claim 10 wherein the first support and the second support are positioned at an angle toward an inside of the boat.

15. A telescoping tower for a boat comprising:

a center section of a tower;

at least a first support and a second support each comprising a telescoping assembly including two or more members longitudinally moveable relative to one another for moving the center section of the tower between at least a first position and a second position, wherein at least two members of the two or more members of the respective first support and second support are arranged alongside one another, wherein the first support and the second support are each configured to extend and retract, via the two or more members, to raise and lower the center section of the tower between at least a first height above a deck of the boat and a second height above the deck of the boat, wherein at least a first member of the two or more members of the respective first support second support is at least partially hollow such that at least the first member defines a channel, and wherein at least a second member of the two or more members of the respective first support and second support is at least partially disposed within the channel of at least the first member;

an actuator for longitudinally moving the two or more members of at least one of the first support and the second support relative to one another to move the center section of the tower between at least the first position and the second position.
