Abstract

The present invention relates to a radially collapsible frame ( 1 ) for a prosthetic valve, the frame ( 1 ) comprising an outflow end region ( 3 ) at a proximal end of the frame ( 1 ) and an inflow end region ( 2 ) at a distal end of the frame ( 1 ), opposite to the outflow end region ( 3 ). The frame ( 1 ) further includes at least two radially spaced commissure attachment regions ( 10, 10′, 10 ″) and a cell structure ( 30 ), composed of a plurality of lattice cells being arranged radially around a flow axis of the frame ( 1 ) and connecting the at least two commissure attachment regions ( 10, 10′, 10 ″). Finally, at least one anchoring/positioning arch ( 20, 20′, 20 ″) is provided, wherein said at least one anchoring/positioning arch ( 20, 20′, 20 ″) radially overlaps the cell structure ( 30 ) at least partially. In order to form the inventive frame from as a single piece, the invention further relates to a method comprising bending the at least one anchoring/positioning arch ( 20, 20′, 20 ″) towards the cell structure ( 30 ) of the frame ( 1 ).

Claims (40)

1. An endoprosthesis comprising:

a frame including:

at least two commissure regions at an outflow end region of the frame;

a plurality of first arches, each first arch including a first arm joined to a second arm;

a plurality of second arches; and

lattice cells proximal to an outflow end of each first arch and each second arch, the lattice cells comprising a plurality of first cells between the first arm and the second arm of each first arch, and a plurality of second cells between adjacent first arches, wherein the plurality of second arches is radially outward of at least a portion of the plurality of first cells; and

a valve prosthesis coupled to the frame.

2. The endoprosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the frame includes three commissure regions.

3. The endoprosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the frame includes three first arches and three second arches.

4. The endoprosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of first cells is integrally connected to the plurality of second cells.

5. The endoprosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the first arm and the second arm of each first arch are joined to one another forming a U-shaped or V-shaped structure.

6. The endoprosthesis of claim 1 , wherein a first arch joins an adjacent first arch at one of the at least two commissure regions.

7. The endoprosthesis of claim 1 , wherein each of the first arches and each of the second arches has a closed end, and the closed end of each first arch is circumferentially aligned with the closed end of a corresponding second arch.

9. An endoprosthesis comprising:

a frame including:

three commissure regions at an outflow end region of the frame;

a plurality of first arches, each first arch including a first arm joined to a second arm in a U-shaped or V-shaped structure;

a plurality of second arches; and

lattice cells comprising a plurality of first cells between the first arm and the second arm of each first arch, and a plurality of second cells between adjacent first arches; and

a valve prosthesis coupled to the frame;

wherein at least one second arch of the plurality of second arches is radially outward of at least a portion of the plurality of first cells and circumferentially aligned with one of the first arches.
