Abstract

An applicator device or dispenser includes a stone applicator tip and a housing which may, in some examples, have a reservoir for containing a product, such as a cosmetics product or a medicinal product. The stone tip comprises a material that is capable of storing and retaining and/or transferring thermal energy during application of the product.

Claims (30)

1. A cosmetic application device comprising:

a stone applicator tip defining an application surface for applying a cosmetic or medicinal product to a surface; and

a bore extending through the stone applicator tip, the bore configured for communicating product to the application surface;

wherein the stone applicator tip is molded from stone powder or aggregate; and

wherein the stone applicator tip is devoid of binder or resin.

2. The cosmetic application device of claim 1 , wherein the bore defines a product delivery passageway such that product moving through the bore is in direct contact with the molded stone powder or aggregate along an entirety of the product delivery passageway.

3. The cosmetic application device of claim 2 , wherein the stone applicator tip consists of a unitary body, the stone applicator tip including a stem configured to secure the stone applicator tip to a housing.

4. The cosmetic application device of claim 3 , wherein the stem includes one or more connection members configured to secure the stone applicator tip to the housing.

5. The cosmetic application device of claim 1 , wherein the stone powder or aggregate comprises soapstone, granite, marble, river rock, river stones, pebbles, metallic stone/ores, volcanic stone, gemstone, engineered/composite stone, or synthetic stone, or composites thereof, whether naturally occurring or synthetic.

6. The cosmetic application device of claim 1 , wherein the application surface is convex and has an angle θ between 35° and 75° with respect to a centerline of the stone applicator tip.

7. The cosmetic application device of claim 1 , further comprising an insert extending into the bore, wherein the insert at least partially defines a product delivery passageway.

8. The cosmetic application device of claim 7 , wherein the insert is recessed from the application surface, wherein the molded stone powder or aggregate defines a first portion of the product delivery passageway adjacent the application surface, and the insert defines a second portion of the product delivery passageway spaced apart from the application surface.

9. The cosmetic application device of claim 7 , wherein the insert defines an entirety of the product delivery passageway.

10. The cosmetic application device of claim 1 , further comprising a housing for containing the product, the stone applicator tip coupled to an applicator tip body that is coupled to the housing.

11. The cosmetic application device of claim 10 , wherein the stone applicator tip is a solid disk coupled to the applicator tip body.

12. The cosmetic application device of claim 10 , wherein the applicator tip body is formed integrally with the housing.

13. The cosmetic application device of claim 1 , wherein the stone applicator tip includes a tip holder with an annular ring completely surrounding the molded stone powder or aggregate.

14. The cosmetic application device of claim 1 , wherein the stone powder or aggregate is synthetic stone.

15. A cosmetic application device comprising:

a stone applicator tip defining an application surface for applying a cosmetic or medicinal product to a surface;

a bore extending through the stone applicator tip, the bore configured for communicating product to the application surface; and

a housing for containing the product, the stone applicator tip coupled to an applicator tip body that is coupled to the housing;

wherein the stone applicator tip is molded from stone powder or aggregate; and

wherein the stone applicator tip includes a stone shell disposed over the applicator tip body, wherein the stone shell is molded from the stone powder or aggregate.

16. A cosmetic application device comprising:

a stone applicator tip defining an application surface for applying a cosmetic or medicinal product to a surface; and

a bore extending through the stone applicator tip, the bore configured for communicating product to the application surface;

wherein the stone applicator tip is molded from stone powder or aggregate; and

wherein the stone applicator tip includes one or more inlays in the application surface, the inlays being a different material from the application surface.

17. The cosmetic application device of claim 16 , wherein the inlays are a non-stone material.
