Abstract

A recording system includes: a recording apparatus; a post-processing apparatus; and a transport apparatus which transports the medium to which the recording is performed to the post-processing apparatus, and the transport apparatus includes a transport mechanism which transports a medium to which the recording is performed to the post-processing apparatus, and a loading stand which loads the discharged medium without transporting the medium to which the recording is performed to the post-processing apparatus.

Claims (41)

1. A recording system comprising:

a recording apparatus which has a recording head, records an image on a medium by the recording head, and discharges the medium;

a post-processing apparatus which performs post-processing with respect to the medium on which the image is recorded by the recording apparatus; and

a transport apparatus disposed between the recording apparatus and the post-processing apparatus in the horizontal direction and is separate from the recording apparatus and the post-processing apparatus,

wherein the transport apparatus includes a transport mechanism which transports the medium that is discharged from the recording apparatus to the post-processing apparatus, a housing accommodating the transport mechanism, an upper surface of the housing provided with a loading portion which loads the medium that is recorded by the recording apparatus without transporting to the post-processing apparatus;

wherein the transport mechanism includes switchback path which reverses the medium transported from the recording apparatus to the post-processing apparatus;

wherein the loading portion is disposed above at least a part of the switchback path,

wherein the transport mechanism includes a lead-out path which extends downwardly and then upwardly below the upper surface, and leads out the medium which is switched back by the switchback path to the post-processing apparatus.

2. The recording system of claim 1 ,

wherein the lead-out path is provided further toward the post-processing apparatus than the loading portion.

3. The recording system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the loading portion is disposed to overlap at least a part of the switchback path in the vertical direction.

4. The recording system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the loading portion and the upper surface are capable of switching a first state of covering an upper part of the transport apparatus, and a second state of exposing the upper part of the transport apparatus.

5. A post-processing apparatus comprising:

a post-processing portion which performs post-processing with respect to a medium on which an image is recorded by a recording apparatus; and

a transport portion disposed between the recording apparatus and the post-processing portion in the horizontal direction and is separate from the recording apparatus,

wherein the transport portion includes a transport mechanism which transports the medium that is discharged from the recording apparatus to the post-processing apparatus' housing accommodating the transport mechanism an upper surface of the housing provided with a loading portion which loads the medium that is recorded by the recording apparatus without transporting to the post-processing portion;

wherein the transport mechanism includes switchback path which reverses the medium transported from the recording apparatus to the post-processing apparatus;

wherein the loading portion is disposed above at least a part of the switchback path,

wherein the transport mechanism includes a lead-out path which extends downwardly and then upwardly below the upper surface, and leads out the medium which is switched back by the switchback path to the post-processing apparatus.

6. The post-processing apparatus of claim 5 ,

wherein the lead-out path is provided further toward the post-processing portion than the loading portion.

7. The post-processing apparatus according to claim 5 ,

wherein the loading portion is disposed to overlap at least a part of the switchback path in the vertical direction.

8. The post-processing apparatus according to claim 5 ,

wherein the loading portion and the upper surface are capable of switching a first state of covering an upper part of the transport portion, and a second state of exposing the upper part of the transport portion.

9. A transport apparatus comprising:

a transport mechanism which transports a medium that is discharged from a recording apparatus to a post-processing apparatus; and

a housing accommodating the transport mechanism, an upper surface of the housing provided with a loading portion which loads the medium that is recorded by the recording apparatus without transporting to the post-processing apparatus,

wherein the transport mechanism includes switchback path which reverses the medium transported from the recording apparatus to the post-processing apparatus; and

wherein the loading portion is disposed above at least a part of the switchback path, and downstream of the recording apparatus,

wherein the transport mechanism includes a lead-out path which extends downwardly and then upwardly below the upper surface, and leads out the medium which is switched back by the switchback path to the post-processing apparatus.

10. The transport apparatus according to claim 9 ,

wherein the transport apparatus is disposed between the recording apparatus and the post-processing portion in the horizontal direction and is separate from the recording apparatus and the post-processing apparatus.

11. The transporting apparatus of claim 9 ,

wherein the lead-out path is provided further toward the post-processing apparatus than the loading portion.

12. The transporting apparatus according to claim 9 ,

wherein the loading portion is disposed to overlap at least a part of the switchback path in the vertical direction.

13. The transporting apparatus according to claim 9 ,

wherein the loading portion and the upper surface are capable of switching a first state of covering an upper part of the transport portion, and a second state of exposing the upper part of the transport portion.
