Regional location tracking of components of a modular energy system
A surgical platform is disclosed. The surgical platform includes a component and a regional location tracking module configured to connect with an external device and receive geographic location data from the external device and implement geographic location specific functionality based on the geographic location data received from the external device.
1. A method for determining a location of one or more components of a surgical platform, the method comprising:
responsive to detecting that an application executing on a user device is logged in, collecting, by the application, geographic location data of the user device from the user device;
receiving, by the application, a request for an activation code, wherein the activation code identifies the geographic location data; and
based on the geographic location data, enabling location-specific features of the user device.
2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing, by the application, the activation code via the user device.
3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising storing the geographic location data on the one or more components.
4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the geographic location data is stored on the one or more components via the application.
5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising verifying the user device to determine whether the user device is an authorized device.
6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising responsive to determining that the user device is not the authorized device, preventing the user device from accessing the application.
7. The method of claim 5 , further comprising determining that the user device is the authorized device responsive to determining that the user device includes an authorization code.
8. The method of claim 1 wherein the geographic location data comprises a regional location of a plurality of regional locations.
9. The method of claim 1 wherein the location-specific features of the user device are limited based on the geographical location data.
10. The method of claim 1 wherein the location-specific features comprise at least one of language options, specific automatic sequential operations of the user device, specific default settings of the user device, different input or output values allowed in the user device, or a specific version of software to run on the user device.
11. A method for determining a location of one or more components of a surgical platform, comprising:
collecting, by an application executed on a user device, geographic location data of the user device;
receiving, by the application, a request for an activation code, wherein the activation code identifies the geographic location data; and
enabling location-specific features of the user device based on the geographic location data.
12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising providing, by the application, the activation code via the user device.
13. The method of claim 12 , further comprising storing the geographic location data on the one or more components.
14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the geographic location data is stored on the one or more components via the application.
15. The method of claim 11 , further comprising verifying the user device to determine whether the user device is an authorized device.
16. The method of claim 15 , further comprising, responsive to determining that the user device is not the authorized device, preventing the user device from accessing the application.
17. The method of claim 15 , further comprising determining that the user device is the authorized device responsive to determining that the user device includes an authorization code.
18. The method of claim 11 wherein the geographic location data comprises a regional location of a plurality of regional locations.
19. The method of claim 11 wherein the location-specific features of the user device are limited based on the geographical location data.
20. The method of claim 11 wherein the location-specific features comprise at least one of language options, specific automatic sequential operations of the user device, specific default settings of the user device, different input or output values allowed in the user device, or a specific version of software to run on the user device.
