Abstract

The disclosed system may include a non-transitory memory and one or more hardware processors configured to execute instructions from the non-transitory memory to perform operations including determining online data and offline data from a mobile application, wherein the online data is determined based on the mobile application being online and the offline data is determined based on the mobile application being offline, determining travel distance data from a remote device associated with the vehicle, aggregating at least a portion of the online data, at least a portion of the offline data, and at least a portion of the travel distance data, generating data associated with the aggregation of the portion of the online data, the portion of the offline data, and the portion of the travel distance data, and causing the mobile application to display the generated data. Other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are disclosed.

Claims (51)

1. A system comprising:

a non-transitory memory; and

one or more hardware processors configured to execute instructions from the non-transitory memory to perform operations comprising:

determining, using a portable electronic device operating in association with a vehicle in communication with a dynamic matching system, online data for the vehicle based on the portable electronic device indicating an online status associated with communicating with the dynamic matching system;

determining offline data for the vehicle based on the portable electronic device indicating an offline status associated with a lack of communication with the dynamic matching system;

determining a travel distance associated with the vehicle based on the online data and the offline data;

generating an offline travel distance associated with the vehicle based on the online data, the offline data, and the travel distance; and

updating the dynamic matching system, based on the offline travel distance, for managing transportation between a ride requestor and the vehicle.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein generating the offline travel distance comprises:

determining an online travel distance from the online data for the vehicle; and

comparing the travel distance with the online travel distance.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein comparing the travel distance with the online travel distance comprises determining a difference between the travel distance and the online travel distance.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein determining the online data comprises receiving online travel distance data from the portable electronic device communicating with the dynamic matching system.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein determining the offline data comprises determining offline travel distance data for the vehicle based on the online data indicating different locations for the vehicle.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more hardware processors are further configured to execute instructions to perform operations comprising providing the offline travel distance for display on the portable electronic device.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more hardware processors are further configured to execute instructions to perform operations comprising:

determining an online travel distance for the vehicle from the online data; and

providing the online travel distance for display on the portable electronic device.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the online travel distance comprises at least one of a distance traveled by the vehicle while waiting to receive a transportation match, a distance traveled by the vehicle to a transportation requestor pickup location, or a distance traveled by the vehicle to a transportation requestor drop-off location.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more hardware processors are further configured to execute instructions to perform operations comprising:

not receiving travel distance data for the vehicle while the portable electronic device indicates the offline status;

determining a distance error is associated with not receiving the travel distance data while the portable electronic device indicates the offline status; and

correcting the distance error based on the online data.

10. The system of claim 1 , wherein updating the dynamic matching system for managing transportation between the ride requestor and the vehicle comprises modifying, based on the offline travel distance, one or more of a cost associated with the vehicle or a transportation request status associated with the vehicle.

11. A method comprising:

determining, using a portable electronic device operating in association with a vehicle in communication with a dynamic matching system, online data for the vehicle based on the portable electronic device indicating an online status associated with communicating with the dynamic matching system;

determining offline data for the vehicle based on the portable electronic device indicating an offline status associated with a lack of communication with the dynamic matching system;

determining a travel distance associated with the vehicle based on the online data and the offline data;

generating an offline travel distance associated with the vehicle based on the online data, the offline data, and the travel distance; and

updating the dynamic matching system, based on the offline travel distance, for managing transportation between a ride requestor and the vehicle.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein generating the offline travel distance comprises:

determining an online travel distance from the online data for the vehicle; and

comparing the travel distance with the online travel distance.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein comparing the travel distance with the online travel distance comprises determining a difference between the travel distance and the online travel distance.

14. The method of claim 11 , wherein determining the online data comprises receiving online travel distance data from the portable electronic device communicating with the dynamic matching system.

15. The method of claim 11 , wherein determining the offline data comprises determining offline travel distance data for the vehicle based on the online data indicating different locations for the vehicle.

16. The method of claim 11 , further comprising providing the offline travel distance for display on the portable electronic device.

17. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

determining an online travel distance for the vehicle from the online data; and

providing the online travel distance for display on the portable electronic device.

18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the online travel distance comprises at least one of a distance traveled by the vehicle while waiting to receive a transportation match, a distance traveled by the vehicle to a transportation requestor pickup location, or a distance traveled by the vehicle to a transportation requestor drop-off location.

19. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

receiving travel distance data for the vehicle while the portable electronic device indicates the offline status;

determining a distance error associated with not receiving the travel distance data while the portable electronic device indicates the offline status; and

correcting the distance error based on the online data.

20. A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising computer-readable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a computing device, cause the computing device to:

determine, using a portable electronic device operating in association with a vehicle in communication with a dynamic matching system, online data for the vehicle based on the portable electronic device indicating an online status associated with communicating with the dynamic matching system;

determine offline data for the vehicle based on the portable electronic device indicating an offline status associated with a lack of communication with the dynamic matching system;

determine a travel distance associated with the vehicle based on the online data and the offline data;

generate an offline travel distance associated with the vehicle based on the online data, the offline data, and the travel distance; and

update the dynamic matching system, based on the offline travel distance, for managing transportation between a ride requestor and the vehicle.
