Abstract

Disclosed are some implementations of systems, apparatus, methods and computer program products for integrating a collaborative communication system and a document collaboration system. A document within the document collaboration system may be linked to an object within the collaborative communication system. A user post may be received in association with the object or the document. A first feed configured to be rendered in association with the object is synchronized with a second feed configured to be rendered in association with the document such that both the first feed and the second feed each includes the user post.

Claims (45)

1. A system for combining a structured page approach of electronic document collaboration with conversational capabilities of enterprise social networking, the system configurable to cause:

associating a feed comprising one or more social networking conversations, configured to be rendered by an enterprise social networking system in association with an entity, with a web page accessible from a document collaboration system, the document collaboration system providing sharing of files, data, news, and resources that facilitates collaboration on web pages by team members inside and outside of an organization across different devices;

providing at least a portion of the feed for display via the document collaboration system in the web page according to a result of associating the feed with the web page, the one or more conversations of the feed including a first user post;

processing a second user post submitted via the document collaboration system in association with the web page; and

responsive to processing the second user post,

providing the second user post for display via the document collaboration system in association with the web page, and

updating the one or more conversations of the feed to include the second user post according to a result of associating the feed with the web page.

2. The system of claim 1 , the first user post pertaining to the entity of the enterprise social networking system.

3. The system of claim 1 , the system further configurable to cause:

associating the feed with the web page responsive to an indication of input received from a client device.

4. The system of claim 3 , wherein the input indicates a request to generate a link between the feed and the web page.

5. The system of claim 1 , the entity pertaining to a topic, group, or individual.

6. The system of claim 1 , the entity of the enterprise social networking system corresponding to at least one record of a database of the system.

7. The system as recited in claim 1 , the system further configurable to cause:

processing the first user post, the first user post being received via the enterprise social networking system; and

updating the feed such that the feed includes the first user post.

8. A computer program product comprising computer-readable program code capable of being executed by one or more processors when retrieved from a non-transitory computer-readable medium, the program code comprising instructions configurable to cause:

associating a feed comprising one or more social networking conversations, configured to be rendered by an enterprise social networking system in association with an entity, with a web page accessible from a document collaboration system, the document collaboration system providing sharing of files, data, news, and resources that facilitates collaboration on web pages by team members inside and outside of an organization across different devices;

providing at least a portion of the feed for display via the document collaboration system in the web page according to a result of associating the feed with the web page, the one or more conversations of the feed including a first user post;

processing a second user post submitted via the document collaboration system in association with the web page; and

responsive to processing the second user post,

providing the second user post for display via the document collaboration system in association with the web page, and

updating the one or more conversations of the feed to include the second user post according to a result of associating the feed with the web page.

9. The computer program product of claim 8 , the first user post pertaining to the entity of the enterprise social networking system.

10. The computer program product of claim 8 , the program code comprising instructions further configurable to cause:

associating the feed with the web page responsive to an indication of input received from a client device.

11. The computer program product of claim 10 , wherein the input indicates a request to generate a link between the feed and the web page.

12. The computer program product of claim 8 , the entity pertaining to a topic, group, or individual.

13. The computer program product of claim 8 , the entity of the enterprise social networking system corresponding to at least one record of a database of the system.

14. The computer program product as recited in claim 8 , the program code comprising instructions further configurable to cause:

processing the first user post, the first user post being received via the enterprise social networking system; and

updating the feed such that the feed includes the first user post.

15. A method for combining a structured page approach of electronic document collaboration with conversational capabilities of enterprise social networking, the method comprising:

associating a feed comprising one or more social networking conversations, configured to be rendered by an enterprise social networking system in association with an entity, with a web page accessible from a document collaboration system, the document collaboration system providing sharing of files, data, news, and resources that facilitates collaboration on web pages by team members inside and outside of an organization across different devices;

providing at least a portion of the feed for display via the document collaboration system in the web page according to a result of associating the feed with the web page, the one or more conversations of the feed including a first user post;

processing a second user post submitted via the document collaboration system in association with the web page; and

responsive to processing the second user post,

providing the second user post for display via the document collaboration system in association with the web page, and

updating the one or more conversations of the feed to include the second user post according to a result of associating the feed with the web page.

16. The method of claim 15 , the first user post pertaining to the entity of the enterprise social networking system.

17. The method of claim 15 , further comprising:

associating the feed with the web page responsive to an indication of input received from a client device.

18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the input indicates a request to generate a link between the feed and the web page.

19. The method of claim 15 , the entity pertaining to a topic, group, or individual.

20. The method of claim 15 , the entity of the enterprise social networking system corresponding to at least one record of a database of the system.
