Abstract

Provided herein are pharmaceutical compositions related to a Blautia strain useful as a therapeutic agent.

Claims (18)

1. A pharmaceutical composition formulated for oral administration comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a Blautia strain comprising at least 90% genomic, 16S or CRISPR sequence identity to the nucleotide sequence of the Blautia Strain A (ATCC Deposit Number PTA-125346), wherein the pharmaceutical composition is enteric coated.

2. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein at least 50% of the bacteria in the bacterial composition are of the Blautia strain.

3. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein substantially all of the bacteria in the bacterial composition are of the Blautia strain.

4. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the bacterial composition comprises at least 1×10 6 colony forming units (CFUs) of the Blautia strain.

5. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the Blautia strain is a strain comprising at least 99% genomic, 16S or CRISPR sequence identity to the nucleotide sequence of the Blautia Strain A (ATCC Deposit Number PTA-125346).

6. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 5 , wherein at least 50% of the bacteria in the bacterial composition are of the Blautia strain.

7. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 5 , wherein substantially all of the bacteria in the bacterial composition are of the Blautia strain.

8. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 5 , wherein the bacterial composition comprises at least 1×10 6 colony forming units (CFUs) of the Blautia strain.

9. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the Blautia strain is the Blautia Strain A (ATCC Deposit Number PTA-125346).

10. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 9 , wherein at least 50% of the bacteria in the pharmaceutical composition are Blautia Strain A (ATCC Deposit Number PTA-125346).

11. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 9 , wherein substantially all of the bacteria in the pharmaceutical composition are Blautia Strain A (ATCC Deposit Number PTA-125346).

12. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 9 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises at least 1×10 6 colony forming units (CFUs) of Blautia Strain A.

13. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises live bacteria.

14. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises killed bacteria.

15. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is encapsulated.

16. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , further comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

17. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is effective for the treatment of an immune disorder.

18. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is effective for the treatment of a metabolic disease.
