Abstract

An electric ratchet wrench as one example of the ratchet wrench includes an electric motor, a holder that rotatably holds a socket via a one-way clutch mechanism, and a spindle configured to convert a driving force from the motor into a reciprocating rotation motion of the holder. A space is provided between the socket and the holder. The space includes large interval portions and small interval portions. The small interval portions are adjacent to the large interval portions in a rotation direction (lock direction) of the socket and have distances smaller than distances of the large interval portions. Additionally, the one-way clutch mechanism includes columnar locking pins disposed between the spaces and have a diameter with a size equal to or less than the distances of the large interval portions and exceeding the distances of the small interval portions.

Claims (59)

1. An electric wrench comprising:

an electric motor;

the space includes large interval portions and small interval portions, the small interval portions being adjacent to the large interval portions in a rotation direction of the tool bit or the tool bit holder, the small interval portions having radial distances smaller than radial distances of the large interval portions;

the one-way clutch mechanism includes locking members in the space, each of the locking members having a size equal to or less than the radial distances of the large interval portions and exceeding the radial distances of the small interval portions;

the gear housing has a small diameter portion and a large diameter portion;

the small diameter portion has a smaller diameter than the large diameter portion in planes perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the electric wrench;

the large diameter portion is rearward of the small diameter portion along the longitudinal axis;

a rear portion of the small diameter portion is connected to the body housing;

the large diameter portion overlaps the body housing in the planes perpendicular to the longitudinal axis; and

the light is (1) held by the body housing and (2) under the small diameter portion.

2. The electric wrench according to claim 1 , wherein

the each of the locking members includes a pair of planar portions and a pair of bulge portions, the pair of planar portions being arranged in a direction that the small interval portions are disposed viewed from the large interval portions, the pair of bulge portions coupling between end portions of the planar portions, and

a size between the pair of bulge portions is equal to or less than the radial distances of the large interval portions and exceeding the radial distances of the small interval portions.

3. The electric wrench according to claim 2 , wherein

the pair of the planar portions are parallel.

4. The electric wrench according to claim 2 , wherein

the pair of planar portions have a posture of expanding toward the tool bit or the tool bit holder.

5. The electric wrench according to claim 1 , wherein

the locking member is at least one ball.

6. The electric wrench according to claim 1 , wherein

the small interval portions are on both sides of each of the large interval portions, and

a retainer is between (1) the tool bit or the tool bit holder and (2) the holder, the retainer being configured to change the spaces of one small interval portion and one interval portion to the spaces of another small interval portion and another large interval portion.

7. The electric wrench according to claim 6 , wherein

the retainer includes a protrusion, and

a direction switching lever including a cam portion in contact with the protrusion is on one of (1) the holder and (2) the tool bit or the tool bit holder.
