Abstract

A terminal apparatus and an apparatus in a core network exchange information indicating maintenance of a PDU session in a procedure for releasing UP resources, and thereby releases the UP resources associated with a specific PDU session while maintaining establishment of the specific PDU session. A terminal apparatus and an apparatus in a core network further exchange information indicating a release of only the UP resources in a procedure for releasing the UP resources, and thereby the terminal apparatus recognizes the release of the UP resources associated with the specific PDU session. In this manner, in order to release the UP resources associated with the specific PDU session while maintaining establishment of the specific PDU session, and to allow the terminal apparatus to recognize the release of the UP resources, a system and a communication control method are provided.

Claims (31)

1. A User Equipment (UE) comprising:

transmission and reception circuitry; and

a controller,

wherein

the controller is configured to initiate a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session establishment procedure,

in the PDU session establishment procedure, the transmission and reception circuitry is configured to:

transmit, to a core network, a PDU Session Establishment Request message including first information indicating whether a PDU session is requested to be established as a first PDU session in a case of requesting to establish a new PDU session as the first PDU session; and

receive, from the core network, a PDU Session Establishment Accept message including second information indicating that the PDU session is established as the first PDU session, and

the first PDU session is a PDU session for which User Plane (UP) resources are established during transition from 5GMM-IDLE mode to 5GMM-CONNECTED mode.

2. The UE according to claim 1 , wherein the controller considers the new PDU session as the first PDU session in a case that the second information is included in the PDU Session Establishment Accept message.

3. The UE according to claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to perform a Service request procedure to change from the 5GMM-IDLE mode to the 5GMM-CONNECTED mode.

4. A communication control method performed by a User Equipment (UE), the communication control method comprising:

initiating a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session establishment procedure;

in the PDU session establishment procedure, transmitting, to a core network, a PDU Session Establishment Request message including first information indicating whether a PDU session is requested to be established as a first PDU session in a case of requesting to establish a new PDU session as the first PDU session; and

in the PDU session establishment procedure, receiving, from the core network, a PDU Session Establishment Accept message including second information indicating that the PDU session is established as the first PDU session, wherein

the first PDU session is a PDU session for which User Plane (UP) resources are established during transition from 5GMM-IDLE mode to 5GMM-CONNECTED mode.

5. The communication control method performed by the UE according to claim 4 ,

wherein

the UE considers the new PDU session as the first PDU session in a case that the second information is included in the PDU Session Establishment Accept message.

6. The communication control method performed by the UE according to claim 4 ,

wherein

the UE performs a Service request procedure to change from the 5GMM-IDLE mode to the 5GMM-CONNECTED mode.

7. A core network comprising:

transmission and reception circuitry; and

a controller,

wherein

the controller is configured to perform a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session establishment procedure,

in the PDU session establishment procedure, the transmission and reception circuitry is configured to:

receive, from a User Equipment (UE), a PDU Session Establishment Request message including first information indicating whether a PDU session is requested to be established as a first PDU session in a case of requesting to establish a new PDU session as the first PDU session; and

transmit, to the UE, a PDU Session Establishment Accept message including second information indicating that the PDU session is established as the first PDU session, and

the first PDU session is a PDU session for which User Plane (UP) resources are established during transition from 5GMM-IDLE mode to 5GMM-CONNECTED mode.
