Abstract

An instant cap (“I-Cap”) for a pole foundation and an all-in-one universal pole foundation are provided. The I-Cap is a just-in-time manufactured device located at the foundation's top, filling the gap between the pole foundation cavity's inner wall and the pole. The I-Cap transfers lateral pole forces to the foundation wall while providing pole cavity moisture protection as well as protection from pole uplift and rotation forces. Both the pole and the foundation are manufactured to precision. The all-in-one universal pole foundation can be manufactured just-in-time having information at hand about the pole shaft dimensions specified. The pole rests on either a flat or tapered structure at the bottom of the pole cavity with a through opening to enable moisture to evacuate the cavity. The pole is secured to the foundation using at least one through bolts.

Claims (30)

1 . An elongated foundation for supporting a vertical structure, the foundation comprising:

a horizontal cross-sectional comprising one form selected from a plurality of forms;

an interior structure formed of a plurality of cellular voids and/or at least one volumetric opening; and

an exterior wall partially or fully formed absent of a mold or form; wherein:

the vertical structure has a horizontal profile comprising one form selected from a plurality of forms, wherein the horizontal profile of the vertical structure corresponds to the horizontal cross-sectional form of the foundation; and

a portion of the vertical structure is embedded within the foundation and secured to the foundation.

2 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein the elongated foundation is formed by printing to provide for numerous foundation profiles and a wide range of profile dimensions.

3 . The elongated foundation of claim 2 , wherein the elongated foundation is formed with one of a plurality of profiles, wherein the profile is formed monolithically within the same elongated foundation.

4 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of cellular voids and/or the volumetric opening/s is fillable with fluid, granular material, or fluid that through a chemical reaction turns into a solid.

5 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein the foundation and the vertical structure are made of non-metallic material

6 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein the foundation and the vertical structure are coupled together and are configured to be jointly lowered to a bore in a ground surface.

7 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , further comprising at least one weep hole opening to evacuate fluid from a vertical structure retaining cavity of the foundation.

8 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , further comprising an opening in the foundation material to provide power or power and data connectivity to recesses in exterior walls of the foundation.

9 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein photonic discharge cures the printed foundation walls.

10 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein weight of the cellular and/or the volumetric opening/s foundation is less than half of the weight if the same foundation is fabricated of the same material without said voids.

11 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein the foundation is formed absent any metallic reinforcement and/or anchor bolt(s).

12 . An elongated foundation configured to support a vertical structure, the foundation comprising:

a horizontal cross-sectional comprising one form selected from a plurality of forms;

an interior structure formed of a plurality of cellular voids and/or at least one volumetric opening; and

an exterior wall partially or fully formed absent of a mold or form; wherein:

the vertical structure has a horizontal profile comprising one form selected from a plurality of forms, wherein the horizontal profile of the vertical structure corresponds to the horizontal cross-sectional form of the foundation; and

the vertical structure is coupled to the foundation with anchor bolts.

13 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein the elongated foundation is formed by printing to provide for numerous foundation profiles and a wide range of profile dimensions.

14 . The elongated foundation of claim 2 , wherein the elongated foundation is formed with one of a plurality of profiles, wherein the profile is formed monolithically within the same elongated foundation.

15 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of cellular voids and/or the volumetric opening is finable with fluid, granular material, or fluid that through a chemical reaction turns into a solid.

16 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein the foundation and the vertical structure are made of non-metallic material

17 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein the foundation and the vertical structure are coupled together and are configured to be jointly lowered to a bore in a ground surface.

18 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , further comprising an opening in the foundation material to provide power or power and data connectivity to recesses in exterior walls of the foundation.

19 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein photonic discharge cures the printed foundation walls.

20 . The elongated foundation of claim 1 , wherein weight of the cellular and/or the volumetric opening/s foundation is less than half of the weight if the same foundation is fabricated of the same material without said voids.
