Abstract

A mobile application development environment may be maintained. A request to publish a mobile application to a mobile application provider may be received from user associated with an organization. Access to an account of the organization for the mobile application provider may be obtained. The mobile application may be automatically provided to the mobile application provider such that the mobile application is indicated as being associated with the account of the organization when the mobile application is provided to customers of the mobile application provider.

Claims (44)

1. A computing system implemented by a server system comprising processor circuitry, the computing system being configurable to cause:

maintaining a mobile application development environment associated with a computing platform, the mobile application development environment configurable to allow users to create mobile applications;

processing a request, from a user, to publish a first mobile application to a mobile application provider, the user being associated with an organization, the organization having, further mobile applications provided via the mobile application provider under an account of the organization for the mobile application provider, the request comprising metadata provided on behalf of the organization;

obtaining access, by the computing platform, to the account of the organization without the computing platform having access to the further mobile applications; and

automatically providing the first mobile application to the mobile application provider such that the first mobile application is indicated as being associated with the account of the organization when the first mobile application is provided to customers of the mobile application provider, the first mobile application being automatically produced by the computing platform based on the metadata.

2. The computing system of claim 1 , the computing system further configurable to cause:

processing a dummy mobile application associated with the account of the organization for the mobile application provider; and

modifying access to the account.

3. The computing system of claim 2 , wherein:

modifying the access comprises preventing the computing platform from accessing applications associated with the account other than the mobile application and the dummy application.

4. The computing system of claim 3 , wherein the computing platform is configured to receive and process, via a user interface associated with the mobile application development environment, security information associated with the mobile application provider.

5. The computing system of claim 1 , the computing system further configurable to cause:

providing the mobile application to the mobile application provider such that the mobile application is associated with the account of the computing platform when the mobile application is provided to customers of the mobile application provider, the mobile application only being available to members of the organization.

6. The computing system of claim 1 , wherein the metadata is configured to be entered, by the user, in a user interface associated with the mobile application development environment.

7. The computing system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile application development environment is associated with a customer relationship management (CRM) platform provided to a plurality of tenant organizations via an on-demand computing environment, the organization being one of the tenant organizations.

8. A method comprising:

maintaining a mobile application development environment associated with a computing platform, the mobile application development environment configurable to allow users to create mobile applications;

processing a request, from a user, to publish a first mobile application to a mobile application provider, the user being associated with an organization, the organization having further mobile applications provided via the mobile application provider under an account of the organization for the mobile application provider, the request comprising metadata provided on behalf of the organization;

obtaining access, by the computing platform, to the account of the organization without the computing platform having access to the further mobile applications; and

automatically providing the first mobile application to the mobile application provider such that the first mobile application is indicated as being associated with the account of the organization when the first mobile application is provided to customers of the mobile application provider, the first mobile application being automatically produced by the computing platform based on the metadata.

9. The method of claim 8 , the method further comprising:

processing a dummy mobile application associated with the account of the organization for the mobile application provider; and

modifying, using the dummy mobile application, access to the account.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein:

modifying the access comprises preventing the computing platform from accessing applications associated with the account other than the mobile application and the dummy application.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the computing platform is configured to receive and process, via a user interface associated with the mobile application development environment, security information associated with the mobile application provider.

12. The method of claim 8 , the method further comprising:

providing the mobile application to the mobile application provider such that the mobile application is associated with the account of the computing platform when the mobile application is provided to customers of the mobile application provider, the mobile application only being available to members of the organization.

13. The method of claim 8 , wherein the metadata is configured to be entered, by the user, in a user interface associated with the mobile application development environment.

14. The method of claim 8 , wherein the mobile application development environment is associated with a customer relationship management (CRM) platform provided to a plurality of tenant organizations via an on-demand computing environment, the organization being one of the tenant organizations.

15. A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for storing program code, the program code comprising instructions configurable to cause:

maintaining a mobile application development environment associated with a computing platform, the mobile application development environment configurable to allow users to create mobile applications;

processing a request, from a user, to publish a first mobile application to a mobile application provider, the user being associated with an organization, the organization having further mobile applications provided via the mobile application provider under an account of the organization for the mobile application provider, the request comprising metadata provided on behalf of the organization;

obtaining access, by the computing platform, to the account of the organization without the computing platform having access to the further mobile applications; and

automatically providing the first mobile application to the mobile application provider such that the first mobile application is indicated as being associated with the account of the organization when the first mobile application is provided to customers of the mobile application provider, the first mobile application being automatically produced by the computing platform based on the metadata.

16. The computer program product of claim 15 , the instructions being further configurable to cause:

processing a dummy mobile application associated with the account of the organization for the mobile application provider; and

modifying, using the dummy mobile application, access to the account.

17. The computer program product of claim 16 , wherein:

modifying the access comprises preventing the computing platform from accessing applications associated with the account other than the mobile application and the dummy application.

18. The computer program product of claim 17 , wherein the computing platform is configured to receive and process, via a user interface associated with the mobile application development environment, security information associated with the mobile application provider.

19. The computer program product of claim 15 , the instructions being further configurable to cause:

providing the mobile application to the mobile application provider such that the mobile application is associated with the account of the computing platform when the mobile application is provided to customers of the mobile application provider, the mobile application only being available to members of the organization.

20. The computer program product of claim 15 , wherein the metadata is configured to be entered, by the user, in a user interface associated with the mobile application development environment.
