Abstract

Systems and methods are provided for matching a first user in a first geographic location with a second user in a second geographic location, and enabling the first user to find the second user in the second geographic location. The first geographic location can be the same as the second geographic location. The first user and second user can be matched based on user-specific matching criteria, including a first user profile of the first user and a second user profile of the second user. The first user can communicate with the second user.

Claims (27)

1 - 51 . (canceled)

52 . A computer-implemented method for scheduling an activity in a geographic location, comprising:

receiving a request from a first user to conduct a search for other users within the geographic location pre-selected by the first user;

searching, with aid of a processor, for the other users according to search criteria provided by the first user, wherein the search criteria include at least one of the following: social, educational, work-related, health-related or food-related interest;

determining a total number of the other users meeting the search criteria that are at the pre-selected geographic location;

displaying the total number of the other users with the pre-selected geographic location on a graphical user interface to the first user; and

directing an introductory communication from the first user to one or more selected users from the other users at the pre-selected geographic location when the first user selects and arrives at the pre-selected geographic location.

53 . The computer-implemented method of claim 52 , further comprising notifying the first user when the total number of the other users meeting the search criteria exceeds a threshold.

54 . The computer-implemented method of claim 52 , wherein the geographic location is characterized as a location of social interest, educational interest, work-related interest, health-related interest and/or food-related interest to the first user and the other users.

55 . The computer-implemented method of claim 52 , wherein the geographic location is an indoor geographic location.

56 . The computer-implemented method of claim 52 , wherein the other users include one or more hidden users who are not viewable to the first user on the graphical user interface.

57 . The computer-implemented method of claim 52 , further comprising determining a total number of the other users that are at the pre-selected geographic location at a particular time period selected by the first user.

58 . The computer-implemented method of claim 52 , wherein the total number of the other users are determined based on a predicted number of the other users at a time that the first user arrives at the pre-selected geographic location.

59 . The computer-implemented method of claim 58 , wherein the predicted number of the other users are determined based on a location history of the associated users.

60 . A non-transitory tangible computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a server, causes the server to perform a computer-implemented method for scheduling an activity in a geographic location, comprising:

receiving a request from a first user to conduct a search for other users within the geographic location pre-selected by the first user;

searching, with aid of a processor, for the other users according to search criteria provided by the first user, wherein the search criteria include at least one of the following: social, educational, work-related, health-related and/or food-related interest;

determining a total number of the other users meeting the search criteria that are at the pre-selected geographic location;

displaying the total number of the other users with the pre-selected geographic location on a graphical user interface to the first user; and

directing an introductory communication from the first user to one or more selected users from the other users at the pre-selected geographic location when the first user selects and arrives at the pre-selected geographic location.

61 . The computer-implemented method of claim 60 , further comprising notifying the first user when the total number of the other users meeting the search criteria exceeds a threshold.

62 . The computer-implemented method of claim 60 , wherein the geographic location is characterized as a location of social interest, educational interest, work-related interest, health-related interest and/or food-related interest to the first user and the other users.

63 . The computer-implemented method of claim 60 , wherein the geographic location is an indoor geographic location.

64 . The computer-implemented method of claim 60 , wherein the other users include one or more hidden users who are not viewable to the first user on the graphical user interface.

65 . The computer-implemented method of claim 60 , further comprising determining a total number of the other users that are at the pre-selected geographic location at a particular time period selected by the first user.

66 . The computer-implemented method of claim 60 , wherein the total number of the other users are determined based on a predicted number of the other users at a time that the first user arrives at the pre-selected geographic location.

67 . The computer-implemented method of claim 66 , wherein the predicted number of the other users are determined based on a location history of the associated users.
