Abstract

The housing includes fastening parts formed integrally with the housing main body and fastening holes formed in correspondence with the fastening parts. The housing main body is fixed to a heating element with fastening members passed through the fastening holes and screwed to the heating element. The fastening holes include at least three fastening holes. The opening of an inlet port is formed inside a triangle that is formed by connecting the three fastening holes.

Claims (41)

1. A valve device configured to control a cooling water of a heating element of a vehicle, the valve device comprising:

a housing including a housing main body defining an inner space therein, a mounting surface defined on an outer wall of the housing main body and configured to be opposed to the heating element, a port provided in the mounting surface and connecting the inner space to an outside of the housing main body, a plurality of fastening parts formed integrally with the housing main body, and a plurality of fastening holes formed within the plurality of fastening parts;

a valve including a valve body configured to rotate about a rotational axis in the inner space, and a valve body flow path provided inside the valve body and configured to communicate with the port; and

a ring-shaped seal member formed of an elastic material, wherein

the housing main body is configured to be fixed to the heating element with fastening members passed through the plurality of fastening holes and screwed to the heating element,

the plurality of fastening holes includes at least three fastening holes,

an opening of the port is provided inside an imaginary triangle that is formed by connecting the at least three fastening holes,

the seal member is provided at a radially outside location of the port provided in the mounting surface, and

an entirety of the seal member is provided inside the imaginary triangle.

2. A valve device configured to control a cooling water of a heating element of a vehicle, the valve device comprising:

a housing including a housing main body defining an inner space therein, a mounting surface defined on an outer wall of the housing main body and configured to be opposed to the heating element, a port provided in the mounting surface and connecting the inner space to an outside of the housing main body, a plurality of fastening parts formed integrally with the housing main body, and a plurality of fastening holes formed within the plurality of fastening parts;

a valve including a valve body configured to rotate about a rotational axis in the inner space, a valve body flow path provided inside the valve body and configured to communicate with the port, and a shaft provided on the rotational axis;

a partition part configured to partition the inner space from the outside of the housing main body;

a driving part provided on an opposing side of the partition part and configured to rotationally drive the valve body via the shaft; and

a ring-shaped seal member formed of an elastic material, wherein

the housing main body is configured to be fixed to the heating element with fastening members passed through the plurality of fastening holes and screwed to the heating element,

the plurality of fastening holes includes a first fastening hole, a second fastening hole, and a third fastening hole, the first, second, and third fastening holes formed around an opening of the port,

the seal member is provided at a radially outside location of the port provided in the mounting surface, and

an entirety of the seal member is provided inside an imaginary triangle that is formed by connecting the first fastening hole, the second fastening hole, and the third fastening hole.

3. The valve device according to claim 2 , wherein a distance between a center of the opening of the port and the first fastening hole is the same as or different from a distance between the center of the opening of the port and the second fastening hole, and the third fastening hole is formed on a side of the driving part.

4. The valve device according to claim 2 , wherein

the housing further includes at least one positioning member formed on the mounting surface and configured to be engaged with the heating element, and

the at least one positioning member includes a first positioning member and a second positioning member, the first and second positioning members formed around the opening of the port.

5. The valve device according to claim 1 , wherein the housing has at least one mounting surface recess recessed from the mounting surface and away from the heating element.

6. The valve device according to claim 2 , wherein the housing has at least one mounting surface recess recessed from the mounting surface and away from the heating element.

7. The valve device according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a motor configured to drive the valve body, wherein

the mounting surface is located between the heating element and the motor, and

the housing has a mounting surface recess provided in the mounting surface.

8. The valve device according to claim 1 , wherein

the housing has a plurality of mounting surface recesses provided in the mounting surface, and

a rib is formed between two of the mounting surface recesses.

9. The valve device according to claim 1 , wherein

the valve device is configured to control a flow of the cooling water to a cooler, a heater, and a radiator of the vehicle, wherein

the valve body is configured to cause, in the following order,

a first condition in which the flow of the cooling water to the cooler, the heater, and the radiator is blocked,

a second condition in which the flow of the cooling water to the cooler and the radiator is blocked and in which the flow of the cooling water to the heater starts,

a third condition in which the flow of the cooling water to the heater is maximized, in which the flow of the cooling water to the radiator is blocked, and in which the flow of the cooling water to the cooler starts, and

a fourth condition in which the flow of the cooling water to the heater and the cooler is maximized, and in which the flow of the cooling water to the radiator starts.

10. The valve device according to claim 1 , wherein the seal member is formed of rubber.

11. The valve device according to claim 2 , wherein the seal member is formed of rubber.
