Treatment methods for coated or uncoated proppants that can, among other things, control fugitive dust during typical handling procedures with typical transport equipment and/or add functional features to the proppant solid are disclosed herein.

A composition comprising a coated proppant, wherein the coated proppant consists of sand with a coating disposed on the sand, wherein the coating disposed on the particle is formed from an aqueous composition comprising a C 6 -C 16 alkylated alcohol and an emulsion of an copolymer formed from unsaturated compounds that are copolymerizable with methacrylic acid or methyl acrylate.
22 . The composition of claim 21 , wherein the unsaturated compound copolymerizable with methacrylic acid or methyl acrylate is acrylonitrile, methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, vinyl acetate, vinyl propionate, methyl itaconate, styrene, or 2-hydroxylethyl methacrylate.
