Footwear article with collar elevator
A footwear article includes a collar elevator that returns an ankle collar from a lowered state that is conducive to donning up to a raised state that secures the wearer's foot during wear. The collar elevator includes a lever arm. The lever arm may be deformable and biased towards the raised state. The lever arm may be articulated with a biasing force urging the lever arm to the raised state. The lever arm may have a variety of cross sections as well. The lever arm extends from a base, which may a sole portion of the footwear article. The lever arm and the base may be monolithic, permanently joined, removably joined, or otherwise connected.
1. A footwear article having an internal cavity, the footwear article comprising:
an upper coupled to a sole and comprising an ankle collar that is movable between a lowered state positioned closer to the sole and a raised state positioned farther from the sole; and
a collar elevator operable to return the ankle collar from the lowered state to the raised state, the collar elevator comprising:
a first lever arm having a proximal end and a distal end, and a second lever arm having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the first lever arm distal end and the second lever arm distal end are discontinuous, wherein the first lever arm proximal end is continuous with a base having a U-shaped element extending between the first lever arm proximal end and the second lever arm proximal end around a heel end of the sole, the base further comprising a lower edge positioned superior to an upper surface of the sole, such that the base of the collar elevator is in contact with the upper surface of the sole.
2. The footwear article of claim 1 , wherein the base extends to the second lever arm proximal end.
3. The footwear article of claim 1 , wherein the first lever arm proximal end is joined with a base.
4. The footwear article of claim 3 , wherein the base extends to the second lever arm proximal end.
5. The footwear article of claim 3 , wherein the first lever arm and the base are permanently joined.
6. The footwear article of claim 1 , wherein the first lever arm extends in a heel ward direction from the proximal end toward the distal end.
7. The footwear article of claim 1 further comprising, a heel pull at a heel end of the upper.
8. The footwear article of claim 1 further comprising, a collar slide having a proximal end and a distal end, the collar slide proximal end extending from the ankle collar at an upper-most heel end of the ankle collar; wherein the first lever arm extends from the sole towards the ankle collar in the raised state position at a first angle that is greater than a second angle defined by the collar slide relative to the sole also in the raised state position.
9. The footwear article of claim 1 further comprising, a collar stay having a first end on a medial side of the upper and a second end on a lateral side of the upper, the collar stay extending around a heel end of the upper at the ankle collar.

The footwear article of claim 1 further comprising, a multi-faceted aperture in the sole; wherein the proximal end of the first lever arm is positioned within the multi-faceted aperture at a first orientation that provide a first angle between the first lever arm and the sole or a second orientation that provides a second angle between the first lever arm and the sole.
11. A footwear article comprising:
an upper coupled to a sole and comprising an ankle collar that is movable between a lowered state positioned closer to the sole and a raised state positioned farther from the sole;
a collar elevator operable to return the ankle collar from the lowered state to the raised state, the collar elevator comprised of a first lever arm having a proximal end and a distal end and a second lever arm having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the first lever arm proximal end is continuous with a base having a U-shaped element extending between the first lever arm proximal end and the second lever arm proximal end around a heel end of the sole, wherein the first lever arm distal end is independently moveable relative to the sole; and
a heel pull at a heel end of the upper.
12. A footwear article comprising:
an upper coupled to a sole and comprising an ankle collar that is movable between a lowered state positioned closer to the sole and a raised state positioned farther from the sole;
a collar slide having a proximal end and a distal end, the collar slide proximal end extending from the ankle collar at an upper-most heel end of the ankle collar;
a collar elevator operable to return the ankle collar from the lowered state to the raised state, the collar elevator comprised of a first lever arm having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the first lever arm distal end is independently moveable relative to the sole and the first lever arm extends from the sole towards the ankle collar in the raised state position at a first angle that is greater than a second angle defined by the collar slide relative to the sole also in the raised state position; and
wherein the collar elevator further comprises a second lever arm having a proximal end and a distal end, and wherein the first lever arm proximal end is continuous with a base having a U-shaped element extending between the first lever arm proximal end and the second lever arm proximal end around a heel end of the sole.
