Abstract

The present disclosure provides intelligent lighting control systems.

Claims (26)

1. A method of controlling a luminaire connected to a plurality of lighting control systems comprising:

receiving an input request at a first lighting control system having a command to change a state of the luminaire;

wirelessly transmitting the input request to one or more other lighting control systems;

selecting a toggling lighting control system from the one or more other lighting control systems based on a charge of a battery included in each lighting control system;

altering the state of the luminaire based on the input request via the toggling lighting control system; and

maintaining remaining lighting control systems not selected as the toggling lighting control system in an unaltered state with respect to the luminaire and the input request.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the toggling lighting control system is selected to be other than the first lighting control system.

3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein wirelessly transmitting the input request to the one or more other lighting control systems comprises a Bluetooth transmission.

4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein all of the lighting control systems are single pole, single throw lighting control systems.

5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the unaltered state is an off state.

6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the input request is displayed via a tactile display of the first lighting control system.

7. The method according to claim 1 , wherein each lighting control system in the plurality of lighting control systems includes a low power circuit having a processor electrically coupled to a tactile display.

8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the input request is received wirelessly.

9. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the input request is a toggle request to change the state of the luminaire.

10. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the input request is a dimming request.

11. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the lighting control system with lowest charge is selected as the toggling lighting control system.

12. The method according to claim 11 , further comprising charging the battery of the toggling lighting control system.

13. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising determining whether any of the lighting control systems includes a neutral wire operably connected to the luminaire.

14. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the toggling lighting control system is selected from the one or more other lighting control systems that includes a neutral wire.

15. The method according to claim 1 , wherein each of the lighting control systems includes a field effect transistor and a capacitor wired in parallel with one another.

16. The method according to claim 1 , wherein each of the lighting control systems is connected to a line supplying power and to the luminaire configured as a load.

17. The method according to claim 1 , wherein each lighting control system includes

a module housing; and

a graphical user interface coupled to the module housing.

18. The method according to claim 1 , wherein one or more of lighting control systems is arranged in a multi-way configuration to control the state of the luminaire.

19. The method according to claim 18 , wherein a tactile display housed in the first lighting control system is used to toggle the state of the luminaire.
