Abstract

This disclosure describes a transportation matching system that manages the allocation of transportation providers by training and utilizing multiple machine-learning models to identify, allocate, and serve specific transportation providers with customized opportunities to relocate the transportation providers between geocoded areas in a geocoded region. For instance, the transportation matching system trains and utilizes an incremental provider model, a provider allocation model, and personalized provider behavioral models as well as a customized provider interface generator to satisfy anticipated transportation requests and improve transportation matching within a geocoded region.

determining, at a second time, that the transportation provider is moving toward the target area; and

causing, based on determining that the transportation provider is moving toward the target area, the customized user interface to update the incremental accumulation metric within the accumulation interface portion based on movement of the transportation provider toward the target area.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising updating the incremental accumulation metric within the accumulation interface portion of the customized user interface at regular time intervals as the transportation provider moves toward the target area.

3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising updating the incremental accumulation metric within the accumulation interface portion of the customized user interface until a maximum accumulation metric is reached.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

updating the map to update the current location of the transportation provider on the map within the mapping interface portion of the customized user interface as the transportation provider moves within the map; and

updating the map to be centered on the target area as the transportation provider moves within the map.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mapping interface portion of the customized user interface further comprises a zone encompassing the target area.

6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising:

assigning a zone minimum accumulation metric, a zone maximum accumulation metric, and a zone incremental rate to the zone;

causing the accumulation interface portion within the customized user interface to update the incremental accumulation metric to the zone minimum accumulation metric upon detecting the transportation provider entering the zone; and

wherein causing the accumulation interface portion within the customized user interface to update the incremental accumulation metric is further based on an amount of time the transportation provider stays in the zone.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein causing the accumulation interface portion within the customized user interface to toupdate the incremental accumulation metric based on the amount of time the transportation provider stays in the zone further comprises increasing the incremental accumulation metric by the zone incremental rate for each time interval the transportation provider stays in the zone until the incremental accumulation metric reaches the zone maximum accumulation metric.

8. A system for managing allocation of transportation providers comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to:

identify a transportation provider in a first area to be relocated to a target area;

cause a computing device associated with the transportation provider to display a customized user interface that simultaneously comprises:

a mapping interface portion having a map comprising the target area and a current location of the transportation provider at a first time; and

an accumulation interface portion that comprises an incremental accumulation metric associated with movements of the transportation provider;

determine at a second time, that the transportation provider is moving toward the target area; and

cause, based on determining that the transportation provider is moving toward the target area, the customized user interface to update the incremental accumulation metric within the accumulation interface portion based on movement of the transportation provider toward the target area.

9. The system of claim 8 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to update the incremental accumulation metric within the accumulation interface portion of the customized user interface at regular time intervals as the transportation provider moves toward the target area.

10. The system of claim 9 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to update the incremental accumulation metric within the accumulation interface portion of the customized user interface until a maximum accumulation metric is reached.

11. The system of claim 8 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to:

update the map to update the current location of the transportation provider on the map within the mapping interface portion of the customized user interface as the transportation provider moves within the map; and

update the map to be centered on the target area as the transportation provider moves within the map.

12. The system of claim 8 , wherein the mapping interface portion of the customized user interface further comprises a zone encompassing the target area.

13. The system of claim 12 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to:

assign a zone minimum accumulation metric, a zone maximum accumulation metric, and a zone incremental rate to the zone;

cause the accumulation interface portion within the customized user interface to update the incremental accumulation metric to the zone minimum accumulation metric upon detecting the transportation provider entering the zone; and

wherein causing the accumulation interface portion within the customized user interface to update the incremental accumulation metric is further based on an amount of time the transportation provider stays in the zone.

14. The system of claim 13 , wherein causing the accumulation interface portion within the customized user interface to update the incremental accumulation metric based on the amount of time the transportation provider stays in the zone further comprises increasing the incremental accumulation metric by the zone incremental rate for each time interval the transportation provider stays in the zone until the incremental accumulation metric reaches the zone maximum accumulation metric.

15. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions thereon that, when executed by at least one processor, cause a computer system to:
