Layer 1 reference signal received power reporting for a secondary cell
View Patent ↗A wireless device receives configuration parameters indicating resource configurations of reference signals for a layer 1 reference signal received power (RSRP) reporting of a secondary cell. A control element indicating activation of the secondary cell is received. In response to the control element, a layer 1 RSRP report is transmitted. The layer 1 RSRP report comprises: a first field indicating a reference signal of the reference signals of the secondary cell; and a second field indicating a layer 1 RSRP value of the reference signal.
1. A wireless device comprising:
one or more processors; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:
receive configuration information including information on resource configurations of reference signals for a layer 1 reference signal received power (RSRP) reporting of a secondary cell and information on configurations of channel state information (CSI) report for the layer 1 RSRP reporting of the secondary cell;
receive a control element indicating activation of the secondary cell; and
in response to the control element, transmitting a layer 1 RSRP report comprising:
a first field indicating a reference signal of the reference signals; and
a second field indicating a layer 1 RSRP value of the reference signal.
2. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:
receive a second control element indicating deactivation of the secondary cell; and
stop, in response to the second control element, the transmitting the layer 1 RSRP report for the secondary cell.
3. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein a second power value of the at least the layer 1 RSRP value is a 4-bit value, indicating a power value relative to a first power value of the at least the layer 1 RSRP value.
4. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein a first power value of the at least the layer 1 RSRP value is a 7-bit value.
5. The wireless device of claim 4 , wherein the 7-bit value indicates a power value between −140 dbm and −44 dbm.
6. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to transmit a channel quality indicator report for the secondary cell, in response to the control element.
7. The wireless device of claim 6 , wherein the channel quality indicator report comprises at least one of:
a channel quality indicator;
a precoding matrix indicator;
a channel state information reference signal resource indicator;
a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block resource indicator; and
a layer indicator.
8. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device transmits the layer 1 RSRP report from a first slot a number of slots after a second slot when the wireless device receives the control element.
9. The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the number of slots is a configured value or a predefined value.
10. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device transmits the layer 1 RSRP report with a report periodicity.
11. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the at least the layer 1 RSRP value is equal to or greater than a threshold.
12. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the threshold is indicated in a radio resource control message.
13. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to transmit a channel quality indicator report for the secondary cell, in response to a power value of the at least the layer 1 RSRP value being equal to or greater than a threshold.
14. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein reference signals comprise at least one of:
a first plurality of channel state information reference signals; and
a second plurality of synchronization signal blocks.
15. The wireless device of claim 14 , wherein the first plurality of channel state information reference signals are one or more periodic channel state information reference signals.
16. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the configuration parameters further comprise resource configurations of an uplink control channel for the layer 1 RSRP reporting for the secondary cell.
17. The wireless device of claim 16 , wherein the wireless device transmits the layer 1 RSRP report via the uplink control channel.
18. The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein the uplink control channel is configured on a primary cell, or a physical uplink control channel secondary cell.
19. A system comprising:
a base station comprising:
one or more processors; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station to transmit configuration information including information on resource configurations of reference signals for a layer 1 reference signal received power (RSRP) reporting of a secondary cell and information on configurations of channel state information (CSI) report for the layer 1 RSRP reporting of the secondary cell; and
a wireless device comprising:
one or more processors; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:
receive the configuration parameters;
receive a control element indicating activation of the secondary cell; and
in response to the control element, transmitting a layer 1 RSRP report comprising:
a first field indicating a reference signal of the reference signals; and
a second field indicating a layer 1 RSRP value of the reference signal.
20. A system comprising:
a wireless device; and
a base station,
wherein the wireless device is configured to:
receive, from the base station, configuration information including information on resource configurations of reference signals for a layer 1 reference signal received power (RSRP) reporting of a secondary cell and information on configurations of channel state information (CSI) report for the layer 1 RSRP reporting of the secondary cell;
receive a control element indicating activation of the secondary cell; and
in response to the control element, transmitting a layer 1 RSRP report comprising:
a first field indicating a reference signal of the reference signals; and
a second field indicating a layer 1 RSRP value of the reference signal.
