MAGNETIC MOUNT SYSTEM
A magnetic mounting system is provided. The system includes a device having a magnetic attachment feature and a magnetic device mount. The magnetic device mount has a mating magnetic attachment feature. The magnetic attachment feature and mating magnetic attachment feature allow specific angular, radial, and/or longitudinal alignment of the device relative to the mount without a mechanical interface. An electronic device holder and charging system with integrated charging and data transfer interface and a self-aligning, magnetic coupling and docking interface with on-demand decoupling feature are also disclosed.

7 . An electronic device holder and charging system with integrated charging and data transfer interface comprising:
a device case for holding an electronic device, the device case comprising a housing having one or more indexing magnets, control circuitry, ports, a male device plug, and a charging mechanism, wherein the charging mechanism includes multiple ports for different charger types, a wireless charging coil, and a cordless contact-charging system; and
an electronic device mount having a mating indexing magnet, an attachment mechanism, and a mating charging mechanism, wherein mating charging mechanism includes a mating wireless charging coil and/or mating cordless contact chargers.
8 . The electronic device holder and charging system of claim 7 , wherein the electronic device mount further comprises a power input port.

The electronic device holder and charging system of claim 7 , wherein the system further comprises a device peripheral for interaction with the device case and/or mount, wherein the device peripheral is selected from the group consisting of a power bank, a portable charging system, a controller, and a device having a mating cordless contact-charging system.
10 . The electronic device holder and charging system of claim 7 , wherein the electronic device holder is hermetically sealed.
11 . The electronic device holder and charging system of claim 7 , wherein the device has an external device port.
12 . A self-aligning, magnetic coupling and docking interface with on-demand decoupling feature comprising:
an electronic device holder;
an indexing magnetic device mount having magnets of a predetermined specific size, shape and pattern polarization;
a mechanism to autonomously initiate coupling and decoupling of the electronic device holder and indexing magnetic device mount, wherein the mechanism comprises an actuator.
13 . The interface of claim 12 , wherein the electronic device holder has an integrated charging and data transfer interface.
14 . The interface of claim 12 , wherein the electronic device holder is attached to an unmanned autonomous vehicle.
15 . The interface of claim 12 , wherein the indexing magnetic device mount has a substantially reduced magnetic coupling strength upon angular misalignment relative to the surface of a mating magnet on the electronic device holder.
16 . The interface of claim 12 , further comprising non-magnetic spacers on the indexing magnetic device mount or electronic device holder.
17 . The interface of claim 12 , further comprising a mechanism for coupling to enable both the transfer of fluid, gas, or powder.
18 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the actuator is a mechanical actuator.
19 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the actuator is a non-mechanical actuator.
20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the non-mechanical actuator is an induced repulsive electromagnetic field.
