DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA AND OTHER CONDITIONS
Devices, systems and methods for compressing, cutting, incising, reconfiguring, remodeling, attaching, repositioning, supporting, dislocating or altering the composition of tissues or anatomical structures to alter their positional or force relationship to other tissues or anatomical structures. In some applications, the invention may be used to used to improve patency or fluid flow through a body lumen or cavity (e.g., to limit constriction of the urethra by an enlarged prostate gland).

2 . A system for remodeling prostatic tissue, comprising:
a working device configured to access a prostatic urethra of a patient; and
a compression device deployable via the working device and configured to compress at least of portion of a prostate gland of the patient and relieve constriction of the prostatic urethra, wherein the compression device comprises (i) splayable elements that expand in a radially outward direction when a radial compression force is removed and (ii) an anchoring element configured to anchor in the prostatic urethra.
3 . The system of claim 2 wherein at least of portion of the splayable elements are configured to be positioned distally from the anchoring element when the compression device is deployed.
4 . The system of claim 2 wherein the working device is configured to deploy the compression device while a distal portion of the working device is within a urinary bladder of the patient.
5 . The system of claim 2 wherein the radial compression force on the splayable elements is provided by a lumen of the working device.
6 . The system of claim 5 wherein the radial compression force is removed by deploying the compression device from an opening in the distal portion of the working device.
7 . The system of claim 2 wherein the splayable elements comprise at least two curved arms.
8 . The system of claim 2 wherein the splayable elements comprise at least four curved arms.
9 . The system of claim 2 wherein the splayable elements are made of stainless steel, titanium, nickel-titanium alloys, cobalt-chromium alloys, or tantalum.
10 . The system of claim 2 wherein the anchoring element comprises a length of metallic wire.
11 . The system of claim 2 wherein the anchoring element is configured to anchor the compression device by having a configuration that resists sliding in the proximal direction.
12 . The system of claim 2 wherein the compression device includes a cutting device.
13 . The system of claim 12 wherein the cutting device comprises a balloon with cutting wires.
14 . The system of claim 2 , further comprising an imaging modality.
15 . The system of claim 2 wherein the working device comprises an introducing sheath.
16 . The system of claim 2 wherein the compression device is configured to be removable from the prostatic urethra.
17 . The system of claim 2 wherein the anchoring element is at a proximal portion of the compression device.
18 . The system of claim 2 wherein the splayable elements exert force on tissue when expanded in the radially outward direction.
