Abstract

Methods and systems may incorporate voice interaction and other audio interaction to facilitate access to prescription related information and processes. Particularly, voice/audio interactions may be utilized to achieve authentication to access prescription-related information and action capabilities. Additionally, voice/audio interactions may be utilized in performance of processes such as obtaining prescription refills and receiving reminders to consume prescription products.

Claims (40)

1. A computer-implemented method for selecting a communication mode to facilitate user access to a prescription resource, the method comprising:

obtaining, via one or more processors, an indication of a request to access the prescription resource, the request obtained via an electronic computing device associated with a user;

identifying, via the one or more processors, one or more actions prerequisite to providing access to the requested prescription resource to the user;

identifying, via the one or more processors, a plurality of modes of communication usable to perform the one or more actions;

obtaining, via the one or more processors, configuration information associated with the electronic computing device, the configuration information indicating compatibility of the electronic computing device to utilize the plurality of modes of communication;

based upon the obtained configuration information, selecting, via the one or more processors, a particular communication mode from the plurality of communication modes; and

providing, via the one or more processors, one or more interactive user interfaces to the electronic computing device in accordance with the selected communication mode to facilitate access to the requested prescription resource.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein selecting the communication mode comprises selecting an audial communication mode, and wherein providing the one or more interactive user interfaces comprises providing an interactive voice interface to the electronic computing device.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 2 , wherein the one or more actions include one or more authentication actions, and wherein providing the one or more interactive user interfaces comprises providing an interactive voice authentication interface to the electronic computing device.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the selected communication mode is a visual communication mode, and wherein providing the one or more interactive user interfaces comprises providing an interactive graphical user interface (GUI) to the electronic computing device.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 4 , wherein the one or more actions include one or more authentication actions, and wherein providing the one or more interactive user interfaces comprises providing an interactive authentication GUI to the electronic computing device.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein obtaining the configuration information includes obtaining hardware configuration information indicative of hardware included within, or otherwise operatively connected, to the electronic computing device.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , wherein selecting the particular communication mode comprises determining, based upon the obtained hardware configuration information, that the electronic computing device is incompatible with at least one of the plurality of communication modes.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein obtaining the configuration information includes obtaining application configuration information indicative of hardware access permissions associated with one or more software applications executing via the electronic computing device.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein selecting the particular communication mode comprises determining, based upon the application configuration information, that the one or more software applications lack permission to access hardware required to utilize at least one of the plurality of communication modes.

10. A computing system configured to select a communication mode to facilitate user access to a prescription resource, the computing system comprising:

one or more processors; and

one or more memories storing non-transitory computer executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing system to

obtain an indication of a request to access the prescription resource, the request obtained via an electronic computing device associated with a user;

identify one or more actions prerequisite to providing access to the requested prescription resource to the user;

identify a plurality of modes of communication usable to perform the one or more actions;

obtain configuration information associated with the electronic computing device, the configuration information indicating compatibility of the electronic computing device to utilize the plurality of modes of communication;

based upon the obtained configuration information, select a particular communication mode from the plurality of communication modes; and

provide one or more interactive user interfaces to the electronic computing device in accordance with the selected communication mode to facilitate access to the requested prescription resource.

11. The computing system of claim 10 , wherein the selected communication mode is an audial communication mode, and wherein the one or more interactive user interfaces comprise an interactive voice interface.

12. The computing system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more actions include one or more authentication actions, and wherein the one or more interactive user interfaces comprise an interactive voice authentication interface.

13. The computing system of claim 10 , wherein the selected communication mode is a visual communication mode, and wherein the one or more interactive user interfaces comprise an interactive graphical user interface (GUI).

14. The computing system of claim 10 , wherein the one or more actions include one or more authentication actions, and wherein the one or more interactive user interfaces comprise an interactive authentication GUI.

15. The computing system of claim 10 , wherein the configuration information includes hardware configuration information indicative of hardware included within, or otherwise operatively connected to, the electronic computing device.

16. The computing system of claim 15 , wherein selecting the particular communication mode comprises determining, based upon the obtained hardware configuration information, that the electronic computing device is incompatible with at least one of the plurality of communication modes.

17. The computing system of claim 10 , the configuration information includes application configuration information indicative of hardware access permissions associated with one or more software applications executing via the electronic computing device.

18. The computing system of claim 17 , wherein selecting the particular communication mode comprises determining, based upon the application configuration information, that the one or more software applications lack permission to access hardware required to utilize at least one of the plurality of communication modes.

19. One or more non-transitory computer readable media storing non-transitory computer executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

obtain an indication of a request to access a prescription resource, the request obtained via an electronic computing device associated with a user;

identify one or more actions prerequisite to providing access to the requested prescription resource to the user;

identify a plurality of modes of communication usable to perform the one or more actions;

obtain configuration information associated with the electronic computing device, the configuration information indicating compatibility of the electronic computing device to utilize the plurality of modes of communication;

based upon the obtained configuration information, select a particular communication mode from the plurality of communication modes; and

provide one or more interactive user interfaces to the electronic computing device in accordance with the selected communication mode to facilitate access to the requested prescription resource.

20. The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 19 , wherein the selected communication mode is an audial communication mode, wherein the one or more actions include one or more authentication actions, and wherein the one or more interactive user interfaces comprise an interactive voice authentication interface.
