Abstract

A display unit of the disclosure includes a display panel and a light-distribution adjustment sheet. The light-distribution adjustment sheet is provided on the display panel, and includes a protrusion that protrudes toward the display panel. The protrusion includes a first region including a curved surface, and a second region including a flat surface.

Claims (28)

1. A display apparatus, comprising:

a display panel having a plurality of pixels;

a light-distribution adjustment sheet that is provided on the display panel, wherein the light-distribution adjustment sheet comprises a plurality of protrusions, at least one protrusion associated with one of the plurality of pixels and protruding towards the display panel; and

wherein each protrusion comprises two first regions each having a curved surface and a second region having a flat surface, the two first regions being adjacent to the second region, a width of the two first regions being smaller than a width of the second region,

wherein a pixel is formed by combining color subpixels and a pixel width is designated 1 unit, a width of the protrusion is 0.33 units or less, and two or more protrusions are disposed within at least one pixel.

2. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the two first regions are adjacent to two sides of the second region and the two first regions have equal widths.

3. The display apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the protrusion has at least one discontinuous or transition point between at least one of the two first regions and the second region.

4. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the two first regions are adjacent to two sides of the second region and the two first regions adjacent the two sides have different widths.

5. The display apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein one or more of the plurality of protrusions has at least one discontinuous or transition point between both of the first two regions and the second region.

6. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein each protrusion extends in one direction.

7. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the two first regions on both sides of the second region have the same curvature.

8. The display apparatus according to claim 1 comprising a second light-distribution adjustment sheet, wherein the second light-distribution adjustment sheet comprises at least one second protrusion region including a third region having a curved surface and a fourth region having a flat surface.

9. The display apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein the first light-distribution adjustment sheet and the second light-distribution adjustment sheet are stacked so as to have the protrusion region and the at least one second protrusion region oriented at 90 degrees with respect to one another.

10. The display apparatus according to claim 8 , further comprising a resin layer between the light-distribution adjustment sheet and the display panel.

11. The display apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the resin layer includes a material having a lower refractive index than a resin material forming the light-distribution adjustment sheet.

12. The display apparatus according to claim 10 , further comprising an adhesive layer between the display panel and the resin layer.

13. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the light-distribution adjustment sheet is formed of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), acrylic resin (PMMA), or poly-carbonate (PC).

14. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of light sources, an optical sheet, and a reflector.

15. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a fixed pedestal that supports the display panel.

16. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a stand provided with at least one of a tilt mechanism that can change a vertical direction of the screen of the display panel and a swivel mechanism that can change a horizontal direction of the screen of the display panel.

17. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the display panel is an organic light emitting display panel.

18. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the light-distribution adjustment sheet is formed of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), acrylic resin (PMMA), or poly-carbonate (PC).

19. An organic light emitting display device comprising:

a display panel having a plurality of pixels, each pixel being formed by color subpixels;

a light-distribution adjustment sheet that is provided on the display panel, wherein the light-distribution adjustment sheet comprises a plurality of protrusions, one or more protrusions protruding towards the display panel; and

wherein each protrusion comprises two first regions having curved surfaces and a second region having a flat surface, the two first regions being adjacent to the second region, a width of the two first regions being smaller than a width of the second region,

wherein a width of a pixel among the plurality of pixels is designated 1 unit,

wherein a width of the protrusion is 0.33 units or less, and two or more of the protrusions are disposed within at least one pixel.
