Abstract

An analytical toilet comprising a bowl for receiving excreta from a user; and a lid adapted to cover the bowl and form an airtight seal between the bowl and the lid forming a sealed chamber; and at least one fluid outlet for cleaning the bowl is disclosed.

Claims (22)

1. An analytical toilet comprising:

a bowl for receiving excreta from a user; and

a lid adapted to cover the bowl and form an airtight seal between the bowl and the lid forming a sealed chamber;

at least one fluid outlet for cleaning the bowl; and

at least one load cell on a frame, the at least one load cell supporting the weight of the bowl to measure the weight of the excreta.

2. The analytical toilet of claim 1 wherein the sealed chamber is a water-tight chamber.

3. The analytical toilet of claim 1 wherein the sealed chamber is an air-tight chamber.

4. The analytical toilet of claim 1 wherein data from the at least one load cell is used to confirm that the bowl and lid are sealed.

5. The analytical toilet of claim 1 wherein the seat is located within the airtight chamber and is washed along with the bowl and lid.

6. The analytical toilet of claim 1 wherein the seat is covered so as to not get wet during washing.

7. The analytical toilet of claim 1 further comprising at least one analytical tool for examining excreta in the bowl.

8. The analytical toilet of claim 7 wherein the at least one analytical tool is located on the lid.

9. The analytical toilet of claim 7 wherein the at least one analytical tool is located in the bowl.

10. The analytical toilet of claim 7 wherein the at least one analytical tool comprises at least one of charge-coupled device (CCD), metal oxide semiconductor (MOS), complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS), spectrometers, chromatographs, field-effect transistor (FET), nano-field-effect transistor (nanoFET), metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET), mass spectrometers, electrodes, microphones, load cells, pressure gauges, photoplethysmography (PPG), thermometers, rheometers, durometers, pH detectors, and scent detectors.

11. The analytical toilet of claim 1 further comprising a gas exhaust to evacuate gas from the airtight chamber.

12. The analytical toilet of claim 11 further comprising an analytical tool for examining gas evacuated from the airtight chamber.

13. The analytical toilet of claim 1 further comprising a manifold system for transporting fluids within the toilet.

14. The analytical toilet of claim 13 wherein the fluids comprise at least one of excreta samples, gas from the airtight chamber, reagents, cleaners, disinfectants, air, high pressure water, and hot water.

15. The analytical toilet of claim 13 wherein the fluids are transported to at least one analytical tool.

16. The analytical toilet of claim 1 further comprising handles for the user to grasp.

17. The analytical toilet of claim 16 wherein the handles further comprise at least one health and wellness sensor for detecting health and wellness data from the user.

18. The analytical toilet of claim 17 wherein the at least one sensors comprise at least one of electrocardiography, charge-coupled device (CCD), metal oxide semiconductor (MOS), complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS), spectrometers, chromatographs, field-effect transistor (FET), nano-field-effect transistor (nanoFET), metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET), mass spectrometers, electrodes, microphones, load cells, pressure gauges, photoplethysmography (PPG), thermometers, rheometers, durometers, pH detectors, and scent detectors.
