Abstract

Systems and methods for virtual interactions are described. One or more users can view or listen to media, react to the media and share such media experience virtually with others. The media experience can take place synchronously, asynchronously or both.

Claims (36)

1. A computer-implemented method of sharing an interactive experience, the method comprising:

streaming an event to a plurality of user devices including a first user device;

receiving, from at least some of the plurality of user devices, a set of commentary of the event;

making a selection, for the first user device, of the set of commentary a first subset to be received with a first set of settings and a second subset to be received with a second set of settings, wherein the first set of settings are different than the second set of settings; and

providing to the first user device the set of commentary according to the selection such that the first subset is provided at the first set of settings and the second subset is provided at the second set of settings;

wherein the providing is performed with the streaming;

wherein the set of commentary comprises audio and video, and the first set of settings and the second set of settings are audio and/or video settings.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first set of settings has the first subset provided with audio and video and the second set of settings has the second subset provided with audio but not video, based on the selection.

3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first set of setting has the first subset provided at a first audio volume and the second set of setting has the second subset provided at a second audio volume lower than the first audio volume, based on the selection.

4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein only the second subset has video and audio turned off because members of the second subset are outside a preselected group.

5. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

sending a notification to the first user device that commentary from a second user device is being added to the streaming.

6. The method according to claim 5 , further comprising:

upon receiving a notification from the first user device to block the commentary from the second user device, not including the commentary from the second user device with the streaming.

7. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving data from haptic sensors from a second user device; and

sending instructions to the first user device to actuate actuators based on the data.

8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the making a selection is based on instructions received from the first user device.

9. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the making a selection is based on weighting values applied to each of the set of commentary.

10. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the streaming is controllable by the first user device.

11. The method according to claim 10 , wherein the first user device can pause and unpause the streaming.

12. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

performing a second streaming to a second plurality of user devices, separately from the streaming;

receiving, from a third plurality of users, a ranking of the streaming and the second streaming; and

providing, to a fourth plurality of user devices, recordings of the streaming and the second streaming in one location presented with the ranking;

wherein the plurality of user devices, the second plurality of user devices, the third plurality of user devices, and the fourth plurality of user devices can overlap in user devices present in each plurality.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the second streaming includes enhancements from one of the plurality of users.

14. A computer-implemented method of sharing an interactive experience, the method comprising:

streaming an event to a plurality of user devices;

receiving a plurality of commentary from at least some of the plurality of user devices;

selecting which of the plurality of commentary is to be included with the streaming to the plurality of user devices;

determining, of the selected ones of the plurality of commentary, which commentary is to be provided as audio only; and

providing, with the streaming, the selected ones of the plurality of commentary to the plurality of user devices as either audio only or audio and video based on the determining.

15. The method according to claim 14 , further comprising:

providing control to a first user device of the plurality of user devices such that the first user device can control the streaming for the plurality of user devices;

wherein the control includes the ability to pause and unpause the streaming.
