Method and apparatus for determining a user data resource assignment
A method and apparatus can determine a user data resource assignment in a wireless network. A control channel candidate can be monitored for a control channel. The control channel candidate can correspond to a CCE parameter that is a function of a first RBG size used for user data resource assignments. The control channel can be decoded. A user data resource assignment can be determined based on the decoded control channel. The user data resource assignment can be based on a second RBG size.
1. A method in a user equipment, method comprising:
receiving, by the user equipment, a configuration for a channel bandwidth;
determining a resource block group size based on the configured channel bandwidth and a higher layer configuration, where the higher layer is a layer higher than a physical layer; and
receiving a resource allocation type 0 including resource block assignment information indicating at least one resource block group of the resource block group size,
wherein the higher layer configuration also configures an aggregation level corresponding to a control channel message.
2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein determining the resource block group size further comprises determining at least one of a first and a second resource block group size from the higher layer configuration.
3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the resource allocation is a downlink resource allocation for a scheduled downlink data transmission.
4. The method according to claim 1 ,
wherein the resource allocation is provided via the control channel message, and
wherein a control channel parameter of the control channel message is a multiple or a sub-multiple of the resource block group size.
5. The method according to claim 4 , wherein the control channel parameter is at least one selected from a control channel element size and an aggregation level corresponding to the control channel message.
6. The method according to claim 4 ,
wherein the control channel parameter comprises a first control channel parameter, and
wherein the method further comprises monitoring, by the user equipment, a control channel candidate for a control channel, where the control channel candidate corresponds to a second control channel parameter, and where the second control channel parameter is not a function of the resource block group size.
7. The method according to claim 6 , wherein the control channel candidate is monitored in a common search space.
8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein receiving the resource allocation type 0 comprises:
monitoring, by the user equipment, a control channel candidate for a control channel;
decoding the control channel; and
determining a user data resource assignment based on the decoded control channel.
9. An apparatus comprising:
a transceiver that receives a configuration for a channel bandwidth; and
a controller coupled to the transceiver, where the controller determines a resource block group size based on the configured channel bandwidth and a higher layer configuration, where the higher layer is a layer higher than a physical layer,
wherein the transceiver receives a resource allocation type 0 including resource block assignment information indicating at least one resource block group of the resource block group size,
wherein the higher layer configuration also configures an aggregation level corresponding to a control channel message.
10. The apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein determining the resource block group size further comprises determining at least one of a first and a second resource block group size from the higher layer configuration.
11. The apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the resource allocation is a downlink resource allocation for a scheduled downlink data transmission.
12. The apparatus according to claim 9 ,
wherein the resource allocation is provided via the control channel message, and
wherein a control channel parameter of the control channel message is a multiple or a sub-multiple of the resource block group size.
13. The apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the control channel parameter is at least one selected from a control channel element size and an aggregation level corresponding to the control channel message.
14. The apparatus according to claim 12 ,
wherein the control channel parameter comprises a first control channel parameter, and
wherein the controller monitors a control channel candidate for a control channel, where the control channel candidate corresponds to a second control channel parameter, and where the second control channel parameter is not a function of the resource block group size.
15. The apparatus according to claim 14 , wherein the control channel candidate is monitored in a common search space.
16. The apparatus according to claim 9 ,
wherein the transceiver receives the resource allocation type 0 by the controller monitoring, via the transceiver, a control channel candidate for a control channel, and
wherein the controller decodes the control channel, and determines a user data resource assignment based on the decoded control channel.
