Abstract

The current disclosure describes components, systems, and methods for assessing the size and style of rain gutters. One embodiment is a kit that includes an extension rod and a plurality of measurement templates. The extension rod includes a pivotable head and a magnet. Each of the plurality of measurement templates includes a body and at least one metal component. The body of each measurement template is arranged such that it conforms to the inside or outside dimensions or contours of a rain gutter. The measurement templates are arranged to physically engage with rain gutters when assessing rain gutters. The measurement templates can assess K-style, half-round style, and fascia style rain gutters.

Claims (63)

1. A system for assessing rain gutters, comprising:

an extension rod;

a first inside measurement template arranged to generally match inside dimensions and contours of a first rain gutter and arranged to be directly or indirectly reversibly secured to the extension rod; and

a first outside measurement template arranged to generally match outside dimensions and contours of the first rain gutter and arranged to be directly or indirectly reversibly secured to the extension rod.

2. The system for assessing rain cutters for claim 1 , wherein the extension rod further comprises:

a head assembly, which comprises:

a pivot feature;

a first securing mechanism arranged to reversibly secure the first inside measurement template and first outside measuring template to the extension rod; and

an arm connecting the pivot feature and the first securing mechanism.

3. The system for assessing rain gutters of claim 2 , wherein the first inside measurement template includes a second securing mechanism and the first outside measurement template includes a third securing mechanism.

4. The system for assessing rain gutters of claim 3 , wherein the first securing mechanism is a magnet.

5. The system for assessing rain gutters of claim 4 , wherein the second securing mechanism includes a first metal component and the third securing mechanism includes a second metal component.

6. The system for assessing rain gutters of claim 5 :

wherein the second securing mechanism further includes a third metal component and the third securing mechanism further includes a fourth metal component;

wherein, the first metal component is secured to a first face of the first inside measurement template and the third metal component is secured to a second and opposite face of the first inside measurement template; and

wherein, the second metal component is secured to a first face of the first outside measurement template and the fourth metal component is secured to a second and opposite face of the first outside measurement template.

7. The system for assessing rain gutters of claim 1 , wherein the first inside measurement template and the first outside measurement template match the dimensions and contours of a K-style rain gutter.

8. The system for assessing rain gutters of claim 1 , wherein the first inside measurement template and the first outside measurement template match the dimensions and contours of a fascia style rain gutter.

9. The system for assessing rain gutters of claim 1 , wherein the first inside measurement template and the first outside measurement template match the dimensions and contours of a standard half-round rain gutter.

10. The system for assessing rain gutters of claim 1 , wherein the first inside measurement template and the first outside measurement template match the dimensions and contours of a half-round reverse curve rain gutter.

11. The system of assessing rain gutter of claim 1 , further comprising:

a second inside measurement template arranged to generally match inside dimensions and contours of a second rain gutter and arranged to be directly or indirectly reversibly secured to the extension rod, and

a second outside measurement template arranged to generally match outside dimensions and contours of the second rain gutter and arranged to be directly or indirectly reversibly secured to the extension rod.

12. The system of assessing rain gutters of claim 11 , where the first rain gutter and second rain gutter are of different styles.

13. The system of assessing rain gutters of claim 11 , where the first rain gutter and second rain gutter are of different sizes.

14. A rain gutter assessment kit, comprising:

an extension rod comprising:

an extendable body; and

a head coupled to the extendable body, the head comprising:

a pivot feature;

a first securing mechanism; and

an arm connecting the first securing mechanism to the pivot feature;

a first inside measurement template arranged to generally match inside dimensions and contours of a first rain gutter and arranged to be directly or indirectly reversibly secured to the extension rod;

a first outside measurement template arranged to generally match outside dimensions and contours of the first rain gutter and arranged to be directly or indirectly reversibly secured to the extension rod;

a second inside measurement template arranged to generally match inside dimensions and contours of a second rain gutter and arranged to be directly or indirectly reversibly secured to the extension rod; and

a second outside measurement template arranged to generally match outside dimensions and contours of the second rain gutter and arranged to be directly or indirectly reversibly secured to the extension rod.

15. The rain gutter assessment kit of claim 14 , wherein:

the first inside measurement template includes a second securing mechanism;

the first outside measurement template includes a third securing mechanism;

the second inside measurement template includes a fourth securing mechanism; and

the second outside measurement template includes a fifth securing mechanism.

16. The rain gutter assessment kit of claim 15 , wherein the first securing mechanism is a magnet.

17. The rain gutter assessment kit of claim 16 , wherein:

the second securing mechanism includes a first metal component;

the third securing mechanism includes a second metal component;

the fourth securing mechanism includes a third metal component; and

the fifth securing mechanism includes a fourth metal component.

18. The rain gutter assessment kit of claim 14 , where the first rain gutter and second rain gutter are of different styles.

19. The rain gutter assessment kit of claim 14 , where the first rain gutter and the second rain gutter are of different sizes.

20. The rain gutter assessment kit of claim 14 , wherein the first inside measurement template and the first outside measurement template match the dimensions and contours of a K-style rain gutter.

21. The rain gutter assessment kit of claim 14 , wherein the first inside measurement template and the first outside measurement template match the dimensions and contours of a fascia style rain gutter.

22. The rain gutter assessment kit of claim 14 , wherein the first inside measurement template and the first outside measurement template match the dimensions and contours of a standard half-round rain gutter.
