Retail merchandise tray
A retail merchandise tray is provided. The retail merchandise tray includes a pair of load bearing members, a front stop mounted to the load bearing members, a wire support structure removably attached to the front stop and load bearing members, a pusher that slides along the wire support structure, and a pair of movable divider assemblies.
1. A method of loading a retail merchandise tray comprising the steps of:
providing the retail merchandise tray, the retail merchandise tray comprising a front, a rear, a pair of opposed load bearing members, a front stop configured to prevent items from falling off the front of the retail merchandise tray, a support structure mounted to the pair of load bearing members, and a pusher mounted on the support structure, a locking arm that is configured to lock the pusher in place, the pusher movable along the support structure toward and away from the front stop along a first axis, and a baffle plate slidably mounted between the pair of load bearing members below the support structure; and
sliding the baffle plate along the first axis relative to the pair of opposed load bearing members away from the front stop, wherein sliding the baffle plate along the first axis toward the front stop transitions the locking arm from a locked position to an unlocked position.
2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of: moving the pusher to a position adjacent the rear of the support structure.
3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising the steps of: locking the pusher to the support structure to place the pusher in a locked position, wherein in the locked position the pusher is prevented from moving toward the front stop along the first axis.
4. The method of claim 3 , further comprising the step of: loading items of retail merchandise onto the support structure.
5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising the steps of: sliding the baffle plate along the first axis relative to the pair of opposed load bearing members toward the front stop and unlocking the pusher from the support structure.
6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the baffle plate includes an upward extending tab, and the step of unlocking the pusher includes engaging the locking arm with the upward extending tab.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the baffle plate includes an upward extending inclined tab.
8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the locking arm is transitioned from the locked position to the unlocked position when the locking arm is engaged with the upward extending inclined tab.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the retail merchandise tray further includes at least one divider assembly movable relative to the pair of opposed load bearing members along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis.
10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the baffle plate includes a pair of opposed sidewalls extending parallel to the pair of opposed load bearing members, the pair of opposed sidewalls are in sliding contact with the pair of opposed load bearing members when the baffle plate is slid relative to the pair of load bearing members and the support structure along the first axis.
11. The method of claim 1 , wherein:
a tab plate extends between the pair of opposed load bearing members and includes a downwardly depending tab;
the baffle plate includes a slot, the downwardly depending tab extending through the slot; and
an abutted contact between the downwardly depending tab and an end of the slot prevents the baffle plate from sliding further relative to the pair of opposed load bearing members.
12. The method of claim 1 , wherein in a first position of the baffle plate relative to the pair of load bearing members and the support structure, the retail merchandise tray assembly has a first longitudinal length, and in a second position of the baffle plate relative to the pair of load bearing members and the support structure, the retail merchandise tray assembly has a second longitudinal length greater than the first longitudinal length.
13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the support structure is a wire support structure including at least one longitudinal member and a lateral member extending perpendicular to the at least one longitudinal member, the locking arm engaging the lateral member in the locked position.
14. The method of claim 13 ,
wherein the baffle plate includes an upward extending tab;
the locking arm includes an angled surface; and
further comprising the step of unlocking the pusher by engaging the angled surface with the upward extending tab.
