SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING A MOBILE DEVICE COVER
A host mobile device and a mobile device cover for use with the host mobile device are configured to select a light pattern and one or more light pattern parameters. The host mobile device runs a mobile application that provides a graphical preview of the selected light pattern on the mobile device cover according to the one or more light parameters. In addition, the mobile application provides a preview of a notification by causing the mobile device cover to display the selected light pattern on the lights and/or screens of the mobile device cover.

27 . A mobile phone, comprising:
one or more processors to provide a user interface configured to:
select a light pattern for display on a mobile phone cover; and
generate an image file to represent the selected light pattern.
28 . The mobile phone according to claim 27 , wherein the selected light pattern and the image file are configurable according to a display duration.
29 . The mobile phone according to claim 27 , wherein the selected light pattern and the image file are configurable according to a display speed.
30 . The mobile phone according to claim 27 , wherein the selected light pattern and the image file are animated.
31 . The mobile phone according to claim 27 , wherein the image file is a GIF image.
32 . The mobile phone according to claim 27 , wherein the user interface is configured to post the image file to a social media platform.
33 . The mobile phone according to claim 27 , wherein the selected light pattern comprises an icon associated with a notification.
34 . The mobile phone according to claim 27 , wherein the user interface is configured to:
select a notification;
associate the notification with the selected light pattern; and
cause the mobile phone cover to display the selected light pattern when the mobile phone receives the notification.
35 . A mobile phone, comprising:
one or more processors to provide a user interface configured to:
select a notification;
associate the notification with a light pattern; and
cause a mobile phone cover to display the light pattern when the mobile phone receives the notification.
36 . The mobile phone according to claim 35 , wherein the user interface is configured to generate an image file to represent the light pattern associated with the notification.
37 . The mobile phone according to claim 36 , wherein the light pattern and the image file are configurable according to a display duration.
38 . The mobile phone according to claim 36 , wherein the light pattern and the image file are configurable according to a display speed.
39 . The mobile phone according to claim 36 , wherein the light pattern and the image file are animated.
40 . The mobile phone according to claim 36 , wherein the image file is a GIF image.
41 . The mobile phone according to claim 36 , wherein the user interface is configured to post the image file to a social media platform.
42 . A mobile phone cover, comprising:
a display operable to generate a light pattern when a mobile phone receives a notification, wherein the light pattern is represented by an image file.
43 . The mobile phone cover according to claim 42 , wherein the light pattern is associated with the notification via a user interface on the mobile phone.
44 . The mobile phone cover according to claim 42 , wherein the light pattern is configurable according to a display duration.
45 . The mobile phone cover according to claim 42 , wherein the light pattern is configurable according to a display speed.
46 . The mobile phone cover according to claim 42 , wherein the light pattern is animated.
47 . The mobile phone according to claim 27 , wherein the selected light pattern comprises scrolling text.

50 . An application for a mobile phone, wherein the application comprises:
a user interface operable by a user to:
select a light pattern for display on a mobile phone cover; and
produce an image file to represent the selected light pattern.
51 . The application according to claim 50 , wherein the selected light pattern and the image file are configurable according to a display duration.
52 . The application according to claim 50 , wherein the selected light pattern and the image file are configurable according to a display speed.
53 . The application according to claim 50 , wherein the selected light pattern and the image file are animated.
54 . The application according to claim 50 , wherein the image file is a GIF image.
55 . The application according to claim 50 , wherein the application is configured to post the image file to a social media platform.
56 . The application according to claim 50 , wherein the selected light pattern comprises an icon associated with a notification.
57 . The application according to claim 50 , wherein the user interface is configured to:
select a notification;
associate the notification with the selected light pattern; and
cause the mobile phone cover to display the selected light pattern when the mobile phone receives the notification.
