Abstract

Systems and methods for providing recommendations of healthcare service providers are provided. A method includes receiving search criteria from a computing device of a search user. The method also includes determining at least one group of users associated with the search user. The method additionally includes determining recommendations that satisfy the search criteria and that are associated with at least one user in the at least one group of users. The method further includes transmitting the determined recommendations to the computing device of the search user. The determining the at least one group of users and the determining the recommendations are performed by a recommendation tool running on a computing device.

Claims (31)

1. A computer program product for consolidating data from plural disparate data sources in an interface, the computer program product comprising computer readable program instructions stored on a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, the computer readable program instructions being executable on a computing device to cause the computing device to:

display a search screen onto an interface;

determine an application programming interface (API) from information entered into the search screen by a search user;

determine a group of users from data obtained using the API;

determine recommendations from at least one user from the group of users; and

change an appearance of the interface by displaying a results screen on the interface showing the recommendations,

wherein the recommendations are provided from the groups of users associated with the search user, and the group of users have a level of trust to the search user based on employment data, and

the group of users is associated with the search user of the information and includes: users having a work address within a certain distance of a work address of the search user, users having a home address within a certain distance of a home address of the search user, users having a same healthcare plan as the search user, and users having an income within a certain percent of income of the search user.

2. The computer program product of claim 1 , wherein the data is obtained from plural disparate data sources.

3. The computer program product of claim 2 , wherein the plural disparate data sources include a human resources database, a benefits database, and a payroll database.

4. The computer program product of claim 1 , wherein the results screen displays a healthcare provider and a number of recommendations the healthcare provider has received from the group of users.

5. The computer program product of claim 1 , wherein the data includes data from a data source specific to the API.

6. The computer program product of claim 5 , wherein the data source is at least one of: a human resources database; a benefits database; and a payroll database.

7. The computer program product of claim 1 , wherein the group of users includes a first group of users determining a first set of recommendations and a second group of users determining a second set of recommendations.

8. The computer program product of claim 1 , wherein the information includes a healthcare specialty for a healthcare provider and a location to search for the healthcare provider.

9. The computer program product of claim 8 , wherein the location is automatically determined from the search criteria.

10. The computer program product of claim 1 , wherein the results screen includes a list of healthcare providers recommended from the group of users.

11. A method for receiving recommendations, comprising:

selecting an object on an interface to request recommendations from a group of users through a first application programming interface (API) accessing a first set of databases;

receiving a list of recommendations from the group of users through the first API in response to the request;

selecting a different object on the interface comprising a number of the recommendations being below a predetermined number of the recommendations;

navigating to a different screen of the interface in response to selecting the different object; and

receiving a different list of recommendations on the different screen from a different group of users through a second API accessing a second set of databases,

wherein the interface comprises an alert that dynamically updates a numerical value to indicate the number of the recommendations that have been received in response to the request, and

the group of users is associated with a search user which requests the recommendations and includes: users having a work address within a certain distance of a work address of the search user, users having a home address within a certain distance of a home address of the search user, users having a same healthcare plan as the search user, and users having an income within a certain percent of income of the search user.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the group of users are associated with the object.

13. The method of claim 11 , further comprising entering text into the different screen to request the different list of recommendations from the different group of users.

14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the request is sent to select users in the group of users.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the different group of users is an expanded group of users in comparison to the group of users.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the different group of users are an employer group of users and the group of users are a team group of users within the employer group of users.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the interface includes a specialty field and a location field.
