Abstract

A method performed by a user equipment (UE) is described. The method includes providing a measurement report to a serving cell, the measurement report having measurements of another cell, and receiving beam information based on the measurements of the another cell from the serving cell via a two-stage indication, where the beam information includes a Synchronization Signal (SS) block bitmap having one or more SS block bits corresponding to one or more SS block indices for the another cell.

Claims (34)

1. A method performed by a user equipment (UE), the method comprising:

providing a measurement report to a serving cell, the measurement report having measurements of another cell; and

receiving beam information based on the measurements of the another cell from the serving cell via a two-stage indication,

wherein the beam information includes a Synchronization Signal (SS) block bitmap having one or more SS block bits corresponding to one or more SS block indices for the another cell.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

obtaining one or more resource locations of one or more SS blocks from the another cell based on the SS block bitmap.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the serving cell is a primary cell (PCell).

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the another cell is a secondary cell (S Cell) or a primary secondary cell (PSCell).

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the serving cell and the another cell are from different cell groups.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more SS block indices correspond to one or more SS block positions in a burst of the another cell.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the one or more SS block bits being “1” indicates that corresponding one or more SS blocks are to be measured by the UE; and

the one or more SS block bits being “0” indicates that the corresponding one or more SS blocks are not to be measured by the UE.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the two-stage indication comprises a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message and a Media Access Control (MAC) control element (CE).

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the beam information is received via RRC signaling from the serving cell.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the serving cell and the another cell are from a same cell group.

11. A user equipment (UE) comprising:

one or more non-transitory computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon; and

at least one processor coupled to the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media, and configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:

provide a measurement report to a serving cell, the measurement report having measurements of another cell; and

receive beam information based on the measurements of the another cell from the serving cell via a two-stage indication,

wherein the beam information includes a Synchronization Signal (SS) block bitmap having one or more SS block bits corresponding to one or more SS block indices for the another cell.

12. The UE of claim 11 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:

obtain one or more resource locations of one or more SS blocks from the another cell based on the SS block bitmap.

13. The UE of claim 11 , wherein the serving cell is a primary cell (PCell).

14. The UE of claim 11 , wherein the another cell is a secondary cell (SCell) or a primary secondary cell (PSCell).

15. The UE of claim 11 , wherein the serving cell and the another cell are from different cell groups.

16. The UE of claim 11 , wherein the one or more SS block indices correspond to one or more SS block positions in a burst of the another cell.

17. The UE of claim 11 , wherein:

the one or more SS block bits being “1” indicates that corresponding one or more SS blocks are to be measured by the UE; and

the one or more SS block bits being “0” indicates that the corresponding one or more SS blocks are not to be measured by the UE.

18. The UE of claim 11 , wherein the two-stage indication comprises a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message and a Media Access Control (MAC) control element (CE).

19. The UE of claim 11 , wherein the beam information is received through RRC signaling from the serving cell.

20. The UE of claim 11 , wherein the serving cell and the another cell are from a same cell group.
