Exercise machine enhancements
An exercise machine is disclosed. The exercise machine comprises a tension generating device. The exercise machine comprises a translatable arm mount coupled to the tension generating device. The exercise machine comprises an arm coupled to the translatable arm mount. The exercise machine comprises a cable coupled to the tension generating device via the arm.
1. An exercise machine, comprising:
a tension generating; device including a pancake motor;
a housing including a front side and a back side, wherein the front side and the back side are parallel to each other, and wherein the housing includes the tension generating device;
an arm mount coupled to the tension generating device;
an arm coupled to the tension generating device using the arm mount, wherein a proximal end of the arm is coupled to the arm mount, wherein a distal end of the arm corresponds to a cable user origination point, wherein the arm mount permits the arm to pivot vertically, wherein the proximal end of the arm is connected to the housing via the arm mount, wherein the exercise machine is in a compact form in an event that the aim is pivoted vertically until the arm is flush with the housing, wherein the exercise machine is in the compact form in the event whereby the arm is pivoted vertically until the arm is flush with the housing and the distal end of the arm is pointing towards a ground surface; wherein the exercise machine is adapted to be mounted on a wall by mounting the housing to the wall; and wherein the arm is adapted to be set in a point parallel to a horizontal plane and in an orientation orthogonal to the front side and the back side; and
a cable coupled to the tension generating device via the arm.
2. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the tension generating device is based on at least one of the following: electronic resistance, pneumatic cylinders, springs, weights, flexing nylon rods, elastics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and friction.
3. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the arm mount permits the arm to pivot vertically at least in part using teeth.
4. The exercise machine of claim 3 , wherein the teeth are trapezoidal in shape.
5. The exercise machine of claim 4 , wherein the teeth are engaged using a compressed spring and an arm-based lever.
6. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the arm mount permits locking.
7. The exercise machine of claim 6 , wherein the locking is based at least in part on a pin.
8. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the arm is adapted to be stowed by pivoting the arm vertically.
