Abstract

Example embodiments described herein pertain to a geospatial interface system configured to cause display of geospatial data within a graphical user interface at a client device, receive data points from multiple data sources, unify the data points, and present the unified data points as interactive graphical elements within the graphical user interface, in a presentation layer separate from the geospatial data. In example embodiments, the geospatial interface system may be or include a group of one or more server machines configured to provide one or more geospatial data display, indexing, and management services. A client device may accordingly display a graphical user interface generated by the geospatial interface system.

receiving a selection of a data point from among the set of data points, the data point corresponding with a family identifier;

presenting an interface control element within the interface in response to the selection of the data point, the interface control element comprising a display of a range of values;

receiving an input that selects a subset of the range of values; and

filtering a portion of a subset of the set of data points from the presentation of the map image based on the input that selects the subset of the range of values, the subset of the set of data points corresponding with the family identifier.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the set of data points include a first data points, and the operations further comprise:

receiving a selection of the first data point, the first data point comprising a data attribute;

presenting the interface control element in response to the selection of the first data point; and

wherein the filtering the portion of the set of data points is based on the subset of the range of values and the data attribute of the first data point.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the range of values comprises a time period.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

causing display of a visualization of a distribution of the filtered set of data points.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the set of data points comprise timestamps, and wherein the operations further comprise:

determining a trajectory based on the timestamps of the filtered set of data points; and

causing display of a direction indicator based on the trajectory.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the set of data points include a first data point that comprises a data attribute and a display property based on the data attribute, and the operations further comprise:

receiving a second data point that comprises the data attribute of the first data point;

assigning the display property of the first data point to the second data point; and

presenting the second data point among the set of data points based on the display property.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

identifying a common attribute among a subset of the filtered set of data points; and

linking the subset of the filtered set of data points with line segments based on the common attribute.

8. A method comprising:

generating an interface that comprises a presentation of a map image, the presentation of the map image including a set of data points at locations within the map image;

receiving a selection of a data point from among the set of data points, the data point corresponding with a family identifier;

presenting an interface control element within the interface in response to the selection of the data point, the interface control element comprising a display of a range of values;

receiving an input that selects a subset of the range of values; and

filtering a portion of a subset of the set of data points from the presentation of the map image based on the input that selects the subset of the range of values, the subset of the set of data points corresponding with the family identifier.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the set of data points include a first data points, and the method further comprises:

receiving a selection of the first data point, the first data point comprising a data attribute;

presenting the interface control element in response to the selection of the first data point; and

wherein the filtering the portion of the set of data points is based on the subset of the range of values and the data attribute of the first data point.

10. The method of claim 8 , wherein the range of values comprises a time period.

11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the method further comprises:

causing display of a visualization of a distribution of the filtered set of data points.

12. The method of claim 8 , wherein the set of data points comprise timestamps, and wherein the method further comprises:

determining a trajectory based on the timestamps of the filtered set of data points; and

causing display of a direction indicator based on the trajectory.

13. The method of claim 8 , wherein the set of data points include a first data point that comprises a data attribute and a display property based on the data attribute, and the method further comprises:

receiving a second data point that comprises the data attribute of the first data point;

assigning the display property of the first data point to the second data point; and

presenting the second data point among the set of data points based on the display property.

14. The method of claim 8 , wherein the method further comprises:

identifying a common attribute among a subset of the filtered set of data points; and

linking the subset of the filtered set of data points with line segments based on the common attribute.

15. A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:

generating an interface that comprises a presentation of a map image, the presentation of the map image including a set of data points at locations within the map image;

receiving a selection of a data point from among the set of data points, the data point corresponding with a family identifier;

presenting an interface control element within the interface in response to the selection of the data point, the interface control element comprising a display of a range of values;

receiving an input that selects a subset of the range of values; and

filtering a portion of a subset of the set of data points from the presentation of the map image based on the input that selects the subset of the range of values, the subset of the set of data points corresponding with the family identifier.
