Method for treating gonorrhea with (2R)-2-({4-[(3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrano[2,3-C]pyridin-6-ylmethyl)amino]-1-piperidinyl}methyl)-1,2-dihydro-3H,8H-2A,5,8A-triazaacenaphthylene-3,8-dione
The present invention relates to methods for treating Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection which comprises administering to a subject in need thereof novel Tricyclic nitrogen containing compounds and corresponding pharmaceutical compositions as described herein.
1. A method for treating gonorrhea in a subject in need thereof, wherein the method comprises administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of (2R)-2-({4-[(3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrano[2,3-c]pyridin-6-ylmethyl)amino]-1-piperidinyl}methyl)-1,2-dihydro-3H,8H-2a,5,8a-triazaacenaphthylene-3,8-dione as shown below:
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the subject is a human.
3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the subject has cervicitis, conjunctivitis, epididymitis, orchitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, pharyngitis, proctitis, prostatitis, or urethritis.
4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable salt is an acid addition salt formed from an acid selected from the group consisting of acetic acid, benzoic acid, citric acid, fumaric acid, hydrobromic acid, hydrochloric acid, maleic acid, methanesulfonic acid, naphthalenesulfonic acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, succinic acid, sulfuric acid, tartaric acid, and p-toluenesulfonic acid.
5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable salt is an acid addition salt formed from methanesulfonic acid.
